is the painter's tape you're using the 1" or 0.98"?

I have a very hard time getting my line straight to cut the excess off after I lay my vinyl I noticed you put the tape back down and cut on that I run my finger along the scene where the top piece meets the bottom am I supposed to cut right in that seem right on top of that seem?
