Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!
As a 20-year volunteer firefighter and 16-year FDNY Paramedic, I absolutely LOVE that CSX First Responder loco!
I used to take my students at the end of the school year for a field trip to Corning Glass where they got to talk with one of the 5 engineers who invented fiber optic glass, seeing the happy faces of all of the school kids brought back many wonderful memories. I would have loved to have gone on their field trip, I bet it was a ton of fun!!
Being from Corning I did a double take when I saw this comment lol
@@princeofavalar3780 I am from that part of the world as well--I hail from Binghanton!!
Because it was a non-revenue equipment move back to Chicago due to a BNSF derailment near Emporia, KS. All the passengers had been disembarked and put on buses to continue their journey to L.A.
Especially this weekend, it was nice to see the veterans and first responder commemorative engines. Some really nice fallen flags and beautiful lightning, and best wishes to the firefighters in Wichita. Thanks for doing another great one on a holiday weekend!
Once again, some great rare Freight Car Catches tonight, thanks VRF. I recently spotted the Observation Coach 'Caritas' on a UA-cam vid. She was on the South Shore Line, being hauled by CSS 2000 and I had been trying to find out a bit more about her, so thanks again.
Interesting to watch the Rail replacement at Revelstoke. Whenever I see MOW I often think that all the highly specialized equipment is very impressive, but those white Road/Rail Trucks, that are so versatile and can be configured to any duty, are the real Workhorses, the Unsung Heroes.
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in multiple locations, I like them, they're awesome, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much.
Nice touch, isolating that unusual rolling stock, letting us read what’s on the sides!
Great view of the "Pere Marquette' and 'Seaboard Coast Line' CSX Heritage Units. Thank you VR for a great 'Grab Bag' as usual!
Love that lightning at the end.
The lighting on the first Cumberland MD cam clip makes that look like a model railroad.
catches are amazing
Happy Sunday VR Friends👋🏻
Hi Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy
awesome grab bag thank you!!
Thanks VRF Loved ❤
The battle of Paradise junction!
Great video and MOW work with the cut off saws and welding equipment!🛤🚂
Great video , Thanks
*Awesome*
The fire there was most likely at the car recycling plant that's a few hundred meters down the line
15:20 I stayed up till 2am my time to see this live and it was worth the wait lol
Ashland or La Plata?
@@TinkerTailor4303 La Plata
@@TinkerTailor4303 La Plata
@@TinkerTailor4303 If you click on the time stamp you will see a clip from La Plata. I'm grateful when people use time stamps, it answers so many questions. Who/What/Where/When/Why/How...
5:37 Dash 9, I'm so excited CSX is returning the 8 and 9 to service again.
Awesome 👏
Awesome video VR!
It's hardly a wonder that that rail joint needed replacing with that mud hole just there.
2:24, There's CSX 1967, the Seaboard Coast Line heritage unit!
2:12 the bass of the engine noise sounds funny
0:44 it's so brightttt

1:23 private car being moved on an intermodal train
1:38 no regard for their own safety
2:17 CSX 1967 in a Seaboard Coast line heritage livery. The SCL livery was replaced in 1972 with Family Lines although the SCL name was still used until 1981

3:24 I've never seen a Nutrien hopper before
3:48 fire in Wichita. This place is the most flammable of all the VRF locations
6:37 a cut of Ferromex hoppers. Union Pacific owns a 26% stake in that railroad
8:06 hi-rail weedkiller truck
8:32 CSX local job honking through Ashland
10:12 an NS AC44C6M as tail DPU, followed by a covered hopper, then another AC44C6M tail DPU
11:10 replacing a section of rail
15:07 the end of the rail replacement section. Hello to those two guys in Ashland
15:19 One P42 and seven cars skipped La Plata station. Is it an empty move?
15:43 Lucky them, I never got to go on a field trip to a train station as a kid. Even though KC Union Station was and is a hot field trip destination
16:42 Southern hopper along with "CLAY" hoppers. Reminds me of the tank cars in Thomas The Tank Engine
17:27 closeups of CSX 911
18:13 Guilford Maine Central boxcar along with CSX 1776 moving by itself.
18:58 first time I've seen a P42 in front of an ALC42 on the Coast Starlight
19:20 BNSF H2 GEVO, H3 GEVO, and MRL SD70ACe
19:50 I've also never seen that hopper livery before
19:59 CSX 1899 leading
20:30 a cut of new covered hopper cars and some new ballast hoppers
The covered hoppers at Roanoke with "clay" stenciled on the side were probably carrying clay slurry. They probably put "clay" on the side to alert people what is inside.
Is it used for paper making? I know some paper is coated.
2:07 CSX Seaboard Coast Line heritage unit debut.
4:00 geeze, and it wasn't even a K&O locomotive that passed by just before the fire, this time..
wonder what K&O set on fire this time?
At 13:13, are you telling me that after measuring the rail they're still 2-3 inches too long?
10:14 I saw this in DeKalb IL and my look on my face was a confused dog.
Lot's of fires at witchita
Has anybody ever noticed how close Cumberland looks like a model railway layout?
Good grab bag! How come that Amtrak went through La Plata non-stop?
No passengers?
@@TinkerTailor4303 Had been cancelled...near Topeka I think. Ran about 10 hours late, no passengers!
I wonder if Clay is the product with in?
4:06 - Just “THE GLOW ALONE”??? I would say at least “3 ALARM”….
A hopper between two engines? Grain power?
Why do they rough up the web six feet on each side of the rail joint?
Why, at about 13 minutes in, did the road gang find it necessary to grind the web of the rail, where the weight and year info would be???
There have been several recycling business fires out here where I live in Southern California. They all are a total and complete loss. Everything burns. Product, buildings, vehicles, you name it. If the fire gets started, let it go. Too dangerous to try and put out.
At the 8:08+ mark, what was being sprayed? Vegetation killer?
Probably
Yes, vegetation killer.
Chriskent helio love you 😍❤ 😘♥ 😍 ❤ 😘
Why did the mow guys grind the side of the rails off like that?
So the machine can get a good electrical circuit and or grip the rail to pull it together.
Thanks. I see from your user name that you would know! @@WeldinMike27
Where's the Deshler toilet???
Is there anyone else on here who had to use a manual bonding drill?
Is that Smoke or Fire?.
Both.
DARWIN, think about it harder 🤔,
You would usually get one with the other 😮 it's called a FIRE 🔥 🤣🤣🤣
I like the WC Heritage GEVO but those engines aren’t very amenable to variations on the prototype’s paint scheme. What is needed is a new “Red Barn” GEVO with acres of flat sheet metal just waiting for the paint shop’s attention.
Those days are over, long gone, done... The BCOL 'barn' came from a need to see when switching with a slab-side cowl unit. RIP the BCOL C40-8M.
4:30 I heat my home all winter with wood pellets. I hope they didn't burn up the ones that I buy........
Why did the southwest chief run right past La Plata?
They were deadheading to Chicago, no passengers on board. It was the train that derailed in Emporia, Ks, that morning
waka waka
LOL.
