This brief message at 8:03 has been true since the beginning of time. This gentleman has a lot of positive insight and seems to have learned his lesson. The fact that he didn't like his son rapping his lyrics and said he got to post positive messages as well, shows a lot of growth and elevation.
I was in Ric Roc's position back in 1999 at the age of 17 also, as an NYC crip. I caught a case (attempt homi) over gang banging.
They wanted to give me 15, but I didn't want to take that. We eventually got it knocked down to 5 years flat. Told me moms I'm gonna take it. And that was that.
Had I gone to trail and blew/lost, I would've gotten that 15 years. So it made sense to take the 5 years instead of risk getting 15.
