Looked like a nice place to stay. Seemed like they had lots of amenities and great food choices too. Even for those specialty diets. Glad that you two enjoyed your stay and the food. Hi Alan it looked beautiful here compared to the Ullswater Inn ( apart from the used glass !) and that cathedral was gorgeous inside and out. Loved the drone footage towards the hotel and the grounds looked so big. Your double classic room looked great as well with views of the garden and with clean windows 😃The hotel as you walked around the bar and resturant looked so nice and relaxing. Ripon sounds a really good place to eat out at with all of the various eateries there but your meals in the hotel looked and sounded delicious. Hi Alan, a perfect location with the magnificent cathedral and shops and cafes nearby. The decor was tastefully updated and the view from your room was very pleasant indeed. The hotel was very attractively decorated in the public areas too. Cleanliness is number one for me - and this hotel ticked that box. The food looked great too! Brilliant review, Alan 👍😊
With you 100% on the cleanliness, it is no.1 for us too, a nice view is great, as is a comfortable bed but if that room is dirty, that is us away. The food was real nice and not often Mrs Metalman eats every scrap, so that says a lot. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Good to see your faith restored in the Inn Collection Group, Alan. Hopefully, the Glenridding Hotel has sorted its teething troubles. When we drove through Ripon earlier this year on the way to the meet-up at Grimwith Resevoir, I thought it looked a good place for a mini break.

The grounds were superb too. Very nice drone shot showing the front of the hotel 👌. The room looked spacious and comfortable, and the views of the gardens were lovely. Well what a relief that this was a quality hotel of the Inn Collection group and Mrs Metalman is still speaking to you haha It looked absolutely stunning from the outside, that window cleaner must be kept busy. The room looked fabulous and what a superb bathroom too. Food looked great and I do like the self service buffets. Ripon itself sounds very interesting and possibly a nice destination for a long weekend. All in all I'd say a pretty much perfect trip. Well done for the video always good to see a true review 😊

Third smallest city in England yet the market is so small but so full of cafes and independent shops and the cathedral there is stunning. I always say and show what I see and a couple of people said I was harsh with the Glenridding review but real pleased I could how the Ripon Inn as it was, very good indeed. Everything looks new and well kept at this place so far. Love the tile in the bathroom. We are going to be doing something similar in our place. Toad in the Hole, that's a new name for that dish! Never heard tell of it before, lol

All the Inn Collection hotel have dog friendly rooms and dogs are allowed in the bar and eating areas too but there are parts that are non dog friendly, which keeps everyone happy. That was a very beautiful hotel inside and out! The room looked very spacious,clean, and comfortable! From what you said, the service and food sounded top-notch. I've never heard of a dish called a Toad In The Hole. I know you showed it to us but what exactly is it??
Haha, a few Americans have said the same but it is a real favourite of mine and something that is a big favourite in the North of England. Toad in the Hole is a traditional English dish from the 1700s, consisting of sausages in a Yorkshire pudding, usually served with onion gravy and vegetables, originally created as a way to stretch out meat in poor households (like us lol). We had a great stay at the Ripon Inn and will be back there for sure. Appreciate you stopping by Eric, cheers Alan
Another great review, Alan, glad this one was much better. The rooms looked excellent, very spacious, and the food and the breakfast in particular looked first class. It always helps when the staff are friendly and understanding, plus seeing the window cleaning going on means they care about the place. There were vegetarian and vegan options on the menu and when Mrs Metalman said she was celiac, when we went down for breakfast they done a scrabbled eggs specially for her and also had some gluten free bread too, something she enjoyed and appreciated. Hi Alan, Happy Father's Day! Hope you had a blast day. Another Hotel Review...I am excited... The room is spacious and the bed seem comfortable. I am not sure the size you would like to have a little larger . Mrs. Metalman has a slender body but with long legs and arm spans. haha I have never seen the fun like it in the US accommodation. Most likely, depends on air conditioning haha it makes me chills and I have to sometimes switch to heater in summer hahah Would you rather have a desk with many plug-ins for filming equipment? or just fine with a circular table and chairs. Indeed, I like modern bathroom and enough space. I enjoy the view from the hotel room as well. I am glad Mr. Metalman satisfies the meal and you two are happy with their hospitality. I believe Hotel owners are carefully watching your review to make some achievement, I reckon. Your honest and fair judgment is appreciated. Well done. Any Free stay ticket? hahah See you next one.
Haha, no, we paid full price but no problem with that as we had a very nice stay and so much better than the last time we stopped at one of this group of hotels. No need for the fan or air con at the moment, I have never know such a wet and cold start to a year before, we had our heating on both days over the weekend, when this time last year we were sweltering in plus 30C heat lol. Everything looks new and well kept at this place so far. Love the tile in the bathroom. We are going to be doing something similar in our place. Toad in the Hole, that's a new name for that dish! Never heard tell of it before, lol

Glad you enjoyed it and we had a brilliant time at the hotel and Ripon itself is real nice as well, plenty to see there but a lot on the doorstep as well. All the Inn Collection hotel have dog friendly rooms and dogs are allowed in the bar and eating areas too but there are parts that are non dog friendly, which keeps everyone happy. Man, good for you to try after the experience at the Ullswater Inn. The glass on the floor makes me wonder, if they missed that obvious glass, what didn't they clean that was more subtle. I'm glad this one was better!

It used to be an old coaching Inn I think Kaat and it was really very nice inside out out, so we really enjoyed our stay. Been many a year since we last stopped in Ripon, so that was something else we really enjoyed too. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
That was a very beautiful hotel inside and out! The room looked very spacious,clean, and comfortable! From what you said, the service and food sounded top-notch. I've never heard of a dish called a Toad In The Hole. I know you showed it to us but what exactly is it??
Haha, a few Americans have said the same but it is a real favourite of mine and something that is a big favourite in the North of England. Toad in the Hole is a traditional English dish from the 1700s, consisting of sausages in a Yorkshire pudding, usually served with onion gravy and vegetables, originally created as a way to stretch out meat in poor households (like us lol). We had a great stay at the Ripon Inn and will be back there for sure. Appreciate you stopping by Eric, cheers Alan
Another great review, Alan, glad this one was much better. The rooms looked excellent, very spacious, and the food and the breakfast in particular looked first class. It always helps when the staff are friendly and understanding, plus seeing the window cleaning going on means they care about the place. I've picked up a cold from somewhere so not in best form today - at least I can watch youtube!! Regards, Ashley

Wow! So clean everywhere! Any vegan food for breakfast?
There were vegetarian and vegan options on the menu and when Mrs Metalman said she was celiac, when we went down for breakfast they done a scrabbled eggs specially for her and also had some gluten free bread too, something she enjoyed and appreciated. Another Hotel Review...I am excited...
The room is spacious and the bed seem comfortable. I am not sure the size you would like to have a little larger . Mrs. Metalman has a slender body but with long legs and arm spans.
haha I have never seen the fun like it in the US accommodation. Most likely, depends on air conditioning haha it makes me chills and I have to sometimes switch to heater in summer hahah
Would you rather have a desk with many plug-ins for filming equipment? or just fine with a circular table and chairs.
Indeed, I like modern bathroom and enough space. I enjoy the view from the hotel room as well.

Haha, no, we paid full price but no problem with that as we had a very nice stay and so much better than the last time we stopped at one of this group of hotels. No need for the fan or air con at the moment, I have never know such a wet and cold start to a year before, we had our heating on both days over the weekend, when this time last year we were sweltering in plus 30C heat lol. Another great hotel review there Alan, the hotel looked lovely. Beautiful gardens and I could easily while a way a few hours reading there. The food looked delicious. My only complaint is why was the packing left to poor Mrs METALMAN, are you not a man of the 21st century?

Nice for yous to get a come back and find a great one alan food did look nice pal and yeah looked spotless the glass i suppose can let slide lol but overall it all looked great to me pal class when the younger generation actually no what it is you need in reguards to menu wise its shows there respect to the job and the guests reviews like this goes a million mile for the company and no doubt folk that like to stay in these places will certainly give this a go due to this good stuff the window cleaner 😂 class love it must add well maintained garden there aswell to enjoy topper mate
