We need to give 👏🏿 Rochelle 👏🏿 her 👏🏿 flowers 👏🏿! I’ve never seen woodworking as amazing as this! The kerf cuts on that walnut…Spectacular🎉!!! When I initially saw what they were trying to achieve, my brain was like “I have no idea how they’re going to round those corners”. So impressed with this piece! Great job ladies!
It would be really cool if they did work for a charity or non-profit in the Toronto area and everyone designed one aspect of the room but they all worked collaboratively together
I know you said mot to address it but I have an idea for the paper pendant: what if you lowered the strip slightly (or raise the paper shell, whatever is easier) so the strip is centered in the pendant? That way the top and bottom would fade away evenly and it would look purposeful. P.S. Rochelle?!? That cabinet is amazing!!!
I think I would remove the bottom shade on the pendant - it looks too much like barbells. More visual interest with the three shades and you solve the strip lighting problem.
@@katherinewill2704 i actually was just about to comment that- i think removing the bottom one will also elongate the hanging pendant and make that corner look taller as well- instead of stopping your eyes at the couch! i feel bad saying something lmao because she said not too, but i love paper lamps and they’re such a statement for ambience- i do kind of like it in the thumbnail of the video tho 😅
I am convinced Rochelle is the Sorry Girl's majestic unicorn of woodworking and DIY! She's also adorable and fun to watch. Way to go SG you're continuing to kill it with all the additions to the team. (Rachel is darling and magical too, BTW!)
This room turned out so great . . . Except for the paper lantern pendant light. I just feel like it looks too much like a beginner DIY project while the rest of the room is so elevated. (Not just referring to the mix-up with the strip light. The balance of the lanterns themselves is off.) You definitely have the skills and experience to make a much higher quality version of it, and I think that you should take the time to do so if you get the chance.
Girl (and gamer) here. I'm the one in our relationship who demands the giant TV and epic gaming setup. So yes, I can relate. 😛😛 I would love this room!! Turned out great, and Rochelle does it again. 👏
Maybe when Kelsey revisits her lantern lamp she could try tea staining it to give it a more wabi sabi aged look! It end up looking very expensive and definitely would help the lantern fit the moody space a bit more?
My wife used to work at the Noguchi museum!! We have three of his lamps in our home and they are soooo freakin stunning. I love seeing artists get recognized!!
Kelsey, this room is fantastic! I admire your "make it work" attitude. I loved seeing you sew the hem of the HANGING curtains. Only you could do this. Rochelle is a master carpenter. Lastly, Elliott is one lucky dude. xxoo
I think that the space looks so great, but you should definitely add your throw blankets and pillows from before, I think they would help tie in the quart’s coffee table, plus make the space nice and cozy.
I so identify with Rochelle, I hate math. She’s the bomb with tool which I love. I want to try Kerfing a project. Beautiful work Rochelle. Those drapes turned out amazing.
I can't help but think that if she had learned math in a relevant way, e.g., through woodworking, she would be great at math. I didn't like math until it became something relevant to what I wanted to do and I ended up being a math and numbers person as my career.
Everything looks fantastic. It was a good call leaving the wall green. I feel that changing it to white would've ruined the whole moody vibe. It would still look great, but it wouldn't be moody anymore. Job well done🍾
At this point, the Sorry Girls are barely attainable DIYers because they are so insanely talented. Like Rochelle is a straight up professional wood worker. Incredible transformation! I love that the room is quite minimalistic but the colors and lighting make such a big difference to the ambience.
I am so thrilled how you did this for Elliot. It is so nice to see the journey you two have taken together and how much you have made these changes to the house you had originally planned as your own home/income property to become the neat for you two.
Though it's hilarious that Kelsey turned her basement into a light and bright bedroom suite and now a bedroom with good light is turned into a dark basement room.
I love everything except the painting behind the sofa. The cabinet is beautiful and the curtains are stunning. I’d love to see the paper lantern lit all the way too. Do you have plans of finishing that off?
The only thing I’d switch out is that large artwork. It feels really disconnected from the dark moody cozy feel for me. Might just be a personal preference but a darker artwork is what I would use if it was my space
I appreciate all of the things that backfire in these videos so much, like not everything is perfect and this is real life and you just have to roll with it and I love seeing it!
Outstanding. I’m sooooo glad you replaced the curtains. They look * chef’s kiss * perfect in that space. The entertainment unit …. Are you for real?!?! Rochelle😮🔥. The lights … the coffee table … the backlight on the tv …. I mean, it’s all just so good !!
This is literal PERFECTION. I am also a green girlie so I love absolutely everything about this. Looks like it's just missing a cozy blanket! I'm also obsessed with that coffee table, I've never seen anything like that before!!
✨ STUNNING!!! ✨ I love that you added so much art and color and shapes. Rochelle's GORGEOUS console is the centerpiece for sure! 🤩 I actually love the lamp, and like someone else suggested, think tea-staining it will make it match perfectly.
I would just replace the lamp centipede it looks really weird! Draws my eye in a bad way.. I love all the green 🥰 not sure about that painting maybe hang it 2 inches higher?
Not the best order to connect those shades in, in my opinion. I would have split the column-style ones and connected the spheres together with the columns one on each end, or just used one column with the two spheres below it, or something. Something different than how it is...
And the large painting doesn't work all that well with the amount of white involved, personally. For a "moody" room, it's too much white. But each to their own.
WELL DONE ROCHELLE, THIS CONSOLE IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!🤩🤩🤩 The room came together nicely!! I think it is perfect for Elliot... What a Beautiful gift that you created for him❤
Haha, the bird print is actually a placemat! My aunt used them for Christmas dinner one year and we loved them! I believe there's a whole bird series, I love the idea of repurposing them!
This video was interesting.. The curtains needing to be the exact same color of the wall & almost painting it white. The random lantern & lamp didnt go, the pink coffe table, that huge painting, cutting that gorgeous bird art.. I was confused the entire time hoping it would come together. Thats also a gigantic tv for that little room.lmao
i definitely want a room like this in my house. I love the idea of having a room dedicated to movies/gaming that is different than the living room. props to Rochelle for the unit. It is STUNNIN'
I love this so much! Green is my absolute favourite colour and I'm slowly but surely turning my bedroom/livingroom in to different shades of green, mustard and dark wood, so this is such an inspiration!
The end result was STUNNING !! Bravo on the curtains I was so hoping you weren’t going for the accent wall. It would’ve killed the vibe. And the console, the lighting, the coffee table… such a success !❤
The room turned out beautiful! Good call with the walls and curtains. Rochelle’s cabinet is perfect!!! The only miss for me is the paper lantern. Rochelle really comes through and adds so much value and quality to the things she builds. That said, I'm not sold on this room? I'm so glad you and your partner like it, but the styles just seem like they haven't gelled, especially with such a bold, moody choice. The paper lantern and the 1980s pink smoked coffee table and that white shelf and the 2020s sofa....at any rate, it's definitely a color that works if you want to spend a lot of time on video games, which seems like the point of it all. TEAM ROSHY! WE 💚 HER
Have you seen the WISTERIA she made? Wowza! ❤
I agree, I need an in-depth video of her making that console!
She's carrying this show
💐💐💐
We need a Rochelle vs. Graham vs. DYIDanie woodworking collab! 🤞
The Canadian trinity
Yes!!!
It would be really cool if they did work for a charity or non-profit in the Toronto area and everyone designed one aspect of the room but they all worked collaboratively together
Yes this exactly!!!
Would click so fast!!!
Not the wisteria blooming one year later after the wisteria party 😅
I was thinking the same thing haha
rochelle and french cleats... name a more iconic duo
truly though ❤
A French cleat works extremely well, is under appreciated and looks great. Much like Rochelle.
If you have any leftover wall paint, you should repaint the two light cords so they blend into the wall more.
Yes! I thought the same thing!
Honestly! Who designed that iconic lamp with a mismatched cord and mounting plate? Crimimal
Rochelle's cabinet is STUNNING! Great job!
STUNNIN! thank you for watching 💚
So glad you found the green! White would have spoiled the atmosphere.
Absolutely!
I know you said mot to address it but I have an idea for the paper pendant: what if you lowered the strip slightly (or raise the paper shell, whatever is easier) so the strip is centered in the pendant? That way the top and bottom would fade away evenly and it would look purposeful.

Great idea!
Yes this! Or even a little puck light popped in the bottom lantern for another quick fix xo
I think I would remove the bottom shade on the pendant - it looks too much like barbells. More visual interest with the three shades and you solve the strip lighting problem.

You could stain the paper lamp with tea, to make it more moody and natural.
It's very white 🤍
Yes this!! It's uncomfortably white! Also pls fix the bottom half
Please don’t stain the shade - it won’t come out even coloured.
@@SJC49 that might look cool and more natural!
@@139139mimi shhhh we dont talk about the bottom half 🤫
I'm so glad you committed to making the green curtains work!! It is SUCH a vibe
thank you! love the vibe 💚
My heart broke when you cut that bird print it was SO cute
I had the exact same reaction! The little pic is cute but I would have found a longer horizontal frame (or made one) to have all the birds included.
Maybe we’ll find the cutouts hidden away like easter eggs (ha) in other parts of the home in the final tour?! (Please please 🙏)
It’d be fun to see bits as oversized art or wallpaper in another tiny space like the one at the top basement landing
Same, but then I needed to know where it was from & it is actually a paper placemat with art by Vicki Sawyer. Needless to say I ordered a set lol.
When I saw the birds I pictured it as the main art piece. The colors were right and it’s so flipping unique.
This room turned out so great . . . Except for the paper lantern pendant light. I just feel like it looks too much like a beginner DIY project while the rest of the room is so elevated. Agree 100%
hard agree. the lantern is a flop, i fear
Living in an old brick building, the fact that even YOU are intimidated by brick is soooooo healing for my self esteem.
I was about to say, I understand that pain!

Rochelle is a straight-up carpenter, here making things from scratch from a vision
Walnut is my favorite wood. I LOVE Rochelle's cabinet! I am so impressed that she even attempted those curves. What an amazing finished piece it is.
she is our resident genius 😭💚
Paint the Ikea light mount the wall color! Also all of your switch/outlet covers.
My wife used to work at the Noguchi museum!! We have three of his lamps in our home and they are soooo freakin stunning. I love seeing artists get recognized!!
omg i love that! 😍💚
OMG the BIRDS!!!! I adore them! And you cut them up - ugh
The whole room is such a vibe. And Rochelle is a genius woodworker!
I love the paper lantern light - but it screams dumb bell to me!! LOL Maybe the bottom globe can be removed, undoing the dumb bell vibe ...
Kelsey, this room is fantastic! I admire your "make it work" attitude. I loved seeing you sew the hem of the HANGING curtains. Only you could do this. Rochelle is a master carpenter. Lastly, Elliott is one lucky dude. xxoo
you’re too sweet 😭💚
I like the room. I appreciate how realistic this is. Not all diys are fun and easy. It’s so clear Kelsey was trying so hard for this room.
I think that the space looks so great, but you should definitely add your throw blankets and pillows from before, I think they would help tie in the quart’s coffee table, plus make the space nice and cozy.

Agree. I say if people unable to read are illiterate, I am innumerate.
@@saraw8503 Maybe you just mean this in a jokey way, but there's genuinely a numbers version of dyslexia, called dyscalculia!
Rochelle absolutely crushed it, like how?!!? 😮 Curtains came out perfect too!!! But the paper light 🫣
It would be cool to see an X shape with the coffee table legs
In 2024, it's a no to feature walls and yes to feature rooms👌🏼 So glad you found curtains!
Rochelle killed it. Again.
Everything looks fantastic. It was a good call leaving the wall green. I feel that changing it to white would've ruined the whole moody vibe. It would still look great, but it wouldn't be moody anymore. Job well done🍾
