    So I'll give my 2 cents on the 4K options. 4K HQ is the best 4K because it's the 8K (8192x4320) image supersampled to 4K. The issue is that 4K HQ will overheat if you shoot for long periods or you alternate between photo and video a lot. This is because you're processing 8K down to 4K with very high quality. The next best 4K is 4K cropped. This takes a 6K image and supersamples it to 4K. This mode will not overheat and the R5 does it great. The only issue is the image is cropped so you're going to have to have the appropriate lenses to get the right field of view. Standard 4K is the worst because what they do is line skip the image (so 8K is the full sensor has 4320 lines of resolution; to get that 4320 lines of resolution down to 2160 lines of resolution, you have to skip every other line). Of course, standard 4K doesn't overheat because there's no difficult processing to just skip lines.

      Thank You! This is extremely helpful for me and for my viewers. I fortunately have a workflow that doesn’t overheat the camera in 4K HQ but keeping the crop mode in minds is really helpful!

    1. Whats the best settings iso, apeture, SS etc...with R5 using 4k for outdoor recoding?
    2. Indoor recoding?

    Hi Chris,
    I have 3 questions after watching this video :-
    1. What does view assist do actually ? Can you give an example?
    2. I have an Rf 28-70 f2 lens which I use on Canon r5, so it doesn’t have image stabilisation.. then there were two options in the image stabilisation screen.. IS on and Digital IS ? So for Rf 28-70 f2 do we need to enable digital is or it is not needed ..? How will it use the R5 image stabilisation?
    3. You kept your iso in C1 mode to auto and exposure compensation to one and two thirds plus.. will it not overexposed the video as in day time 800 iso will be to much ?

    Personally, I have a 6D, but this is a great tutorial. Definitely considering upgrading to the R5🧐

    Is there a way to adjust negative sharpness when shooting without Clog? In 4K, everything is looking so much sharp.

    Does the image come out flat when shooting in C-Log? I'm wondering if Canon has something Sony calls S-Cinetone where it comes out looking its best straight out of camera

    Great video dude I’m assuming most features can be copied across to the R6?

    I noticed you said you have eye AF on when vlogging, but with certain lenses like the rf 15-35 2.8 the AF motor is so unusable loud!! so for video work do you mainly use STM lenses? any advice on how to use a lens like the RF 15-35 in Auto but avoid the noise issue? right now i’m doing everything manually…

    Thanks for video. Why do you keep your exposure compensation deliberately overexposed by 1, stops?

    • @ChristianoGioacchini
      @ChristianoGioacchini Рік тому +1

      It sometimes it is more than 1 stop. When shooting CLog 3 the exposure meter is wrong. And if you pull up the histogram you will see you need to over expose. Kind of annoying.

    For some reason I can’t control my shutter speed on main screen (4:26sec). Do you know why? It’s frustrating me. I can’t turn off auto ISO. 😡
