I love duos, there's something fun about 4 people going at it in a fighting game. When the synergy is good you appreciate it even more because it's hard to get in sync
@@knox7945 it'd be pretty hard to have good rollback netcode for more than 2 people since that adds a lot of possible lag, so that's probably what stopped most FGs from developing teambased games like this. 2XKO started with this in mind, so that was probably a big priority for them as opposed to it just being an add-on.

10:20 I can say that, at low level, playing without pulse against someone using pulse feels a little frustrating/unfair. Because at low level you are not good enough to make good use of the other fuses and also can't/don't know how to convert any stray hit, and you don't have these problems using pulse.
this is the futue of fightign games. this is earthshattering. games from now on will have 2 people MINIMUM, I could see 5v5 teams like in actual LOL. why not. a 5char team. dial down the damage done, and single rounds take 3 minutes would be so cool.

I feel like Yasuo Braum ya gotta play like old Frank West teams from MVC3, like, every combo leads into unbreakable etc. But holy hell you guys are crazy.
Awesome tourney! I love watching them live but with edits this good and the whole thing being streamlined is great in it's own way. I love duos in this game, it's way fun. I thought it was interesting when you talked about how pulse is worse competitively than the auto-assist in SF6. What would need to change with it for it to at least have some potential in high level play? Would it need to have shortcuts to meta relevant moves, or is there something else?
It's because it completely locks you out of a better fuse. Pulse is to familiarize yourself with the inputs, to eventually then move on. No one at high level is using autocombos
do you guys think, in the future, there will be someone that is top 1 in this game, and this person, in their peak, will be better than 2 and 3 place if they play a 2v1?
I think they're different games. At least in terms of game feel, single player and 2 player feels very very different. I can't tell yet which is "better"
I don't think "top 1" is really a thing in fighting games anymore. It happened more frequently back in the day because information was so much more scarce, but nowadays when all the tech you could ever want is a simple Twitter search away. Even dominant players like GO1 in DBFZ or Punk in SF will win Evo and then be out at like top 16 at the next major they enter. The top level of modern fighting games is always gonna be in a state of flux between the top dozen or so players, and even that top level is gonna see various players cycle in and out as they peak and plateau. As for the 2v1 stuff, we have no idea how that will shake out. By and large, good solo players are probably gonna play at a higher level than duos, if for no other reason than the efficiency of practice time/scheduling. I do think that eventually we will see a few dedicated duo teams start to make waves though once they've played together enough to stay synced up during matches and can take advantage of the unique strengths of running as a duo, namely real-time coaching and decreased mental stack.

This game is such a joke. The lenght of the combos are insanely high. Also the assists are so bs , you basically just have to call assist at the end of all your strings when you're minus on block to keep the pressure going and eliminate any punish windows for your opponent. This creates absurdly high blockstrings for your opponents and alot of stress cause you need to care about the handshake tag aswell that can happens at any moment , especially with the 2x assist fuse. what is pulse
@@rttp-righttothepoint6656 it’s a fuse option that allows you to make combos just by pressing the same button repeatedly.
