I was so lucky to be there in Rome to assist at this immense performance of my divine Raina. Wonderful opera wonderful performance of all cast.
Прекрасна ария и великолепно изпълнение! Обичаме и се гордеем с великата Райна Кабаиванска! Господ да й даде още дълги години живот и сили да предава майсторството си на младите!
RAINA KABAIVANSCKA SUBLIME👍❤👍❤
Grazie per il bellissimo filmato
Miss Kabaivanska, Wonderful ! as usual. Thanks a lot for sharing this jewel. ¡ Bravissima !
Most sublime thing Donizetti ever wrote.

DIVINA!
Klytemnest commented 4 years ago:
I adore this aria and I love the way she sings it. Oh, those beautiful high pianissimi! I think Raina surprised more than a few people with this role. I recall one reviewer was surprised that a verista like her had the technical control to sing this bel canto role. Has anyone heard her sing the leading role in Beatrice di Tenda? I bet it's wonderful...
Pezzo sublime!
JoanLorraineN commented 1 year ago:
The aria itself and Raina's singing of it are so hauntingly beautiful ...and so dramatically riveting as to make it a truly spectacular example of live opera recordings ....and the importance of getting beyond the standard oepratic repertoire. I agree completely with Klytemnest's comment: this is certainly not the repertoire that Raina is noted for. But just as Katia Ricciarelli did in Donizetti's Maria di Rudenz ....we see the "vocal road not taken" by 2 great sopranos... Much the pity.
Tu che voli già spirto beato
all'eterno felice soggiorno,
il mio priego tu accogli placato,
mi perdona un sacrilego amor!
Io te 'l chiedo per quanto t'ho amato;
in compenso di tanto dolor!
Che lezione di canto. Il "canto che nell anima si sente"
Beautifuuuuuuuuuuuuuul
thank You
Sublime!!!
divina!
"This final aria is not an 'anti-theatrical' moment, it is not
a dramaturgical convention like the final aria that the heroine, two steps from the gallows, addresses to friends and the public. It is a song of purified despair."
STUPENDA !!!!!!!!
Love the fan who cries 'Divina!' at the end. Great Donizetti singers are as rare as great Wagnerians. How many times do I listen to a Donizetti rarity and struggle to block out the mediocre singing to enjoy the score itself? I wish Renee Fleming had done "Maria di Rohan".
MERAVIGLIOSA
Brava.

Secondo me la Kabaivanska è molto più capace in queste rarità che nelle opere di carattere verista dove la trovo più falsa e manierata sia nell'accento che nella recitazione!!!
Ma Donizetti è molto più vero dei veristi!
