The Wallabies were a great team between 1998-2003. Defended the Bledisloe cup 5 times, tri-nations winners 2000-01, won Lions test series 2001, won RWC 1999 and almost won it again against England 2003. Well captained by John Eales who kicked winning goal in Wellington and full of talented players like Gregan, Larkham, Mortlock, and Roff.
John Eales..awesome person..leader ..gentleman..and in my opinion the greatest wallaby ever..and so selfless and humble...he could of played to the 2003 world cup..who knows..retained the cup..100 plus caps..but he didn't..one of his finest moments...taking that penalty kick against the all blacks in 2000...i have a video of that game..i bought in late 2000...why I don't know I never watched it...its still pristine never been opened...im an idiot..maybe I should watch it..anyway...John Eales what a perfect prelude for Aussie success not only for rugby union but for the Aussies in the up coming Olympic games in Sydney.. .1999 ,2000..an awesome halcyon period for Aussie sport
Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about John Eales. Josh Kronfeld is a wonderful bloke too. I lived in New Zealand briefly when I was 18 and he was a guest speaker at an event I attended and threw a few beers back with him.
2 weeks after The Wallabies and The All Blacks played one of greatest and finest Test Matches in Rugby Union history at Stadium Australia 🇦🇺, it was off to Westpac Stadium in Wellington for The most anticipated rematch in Rugby Union history’s takes place with the Bledisloe Cup on the line with the All Blacks looking to regain the Bledisloe Cup Trophy while the Wallabies is looking to Retain the Bledisloe Cup Trophy for Second Year in a row in this high stakes match
I think that's the point. It recognizes and honours the first people. I think New Zealand is the only colonized nation that has done this. It speaks well of them and no doubt contributes to the dominance of their rugby teams.
Yet it is. What is your problem? Sour grapes? They have been the dominant rugby nation for decades. It is woven into the warp and woof of the nation. I am a Scot but I recognize and appreciate the quality of their game.

Most beautiful goal kick I've ever seen
This was the match that got me into rugby here in the States! So glad it's here now!
Back when the Aussie team was full of Aussies.
I miss Aussie playing this way :( #RUGBY4LIFE
Best years of rugby
Looking back on this now, the clock management by the All Blacks was awful. They were on the Aussie 5 yard line with a few minutes on the clock.
this game is underrated and overshadowed by when the all blacks won 39-35 wallabies this game was amazing to

When Kaplan made a game last way longer than it needed to be. Was another 2 years before we got the Bledisloe back. And haven't given it up yet....
They Kiwi commentators only mentioned how good the Aussies were after the final kick........so one eyed...still are.
was this the last time the aussies beat the kiwis in rugby union
Nisbett and Mexted so flat after that. You could hear it!

Back when the Wallabies were the Wallabies.
As a white man I don't know how I'd feel about doing the Haka even if I was born in New Zealand as it's a Maori tradition
