I’ve heard it referred to as convergent shading too. Used to perfection in this tile!
In convergent shading two adjacent shapes are shaded from dark to light in opposite directions.

Lynn Mead presented this method of shading a few years ago, I think in a workshop. She called it "bidirectional shading".
