Proud owner of a 72 FJ40 for 25 years. I loved my Land Cruiser. Best of the shelf off-road vehicle money can buy. Sold it because I got too old to flip it back on its wheels. Great build!
The good old Toyota Land Mine. I had a good friend who had 3 of them, 2 gas Toyotas, and one with a small block Chevy in it. Wait, I don’t have any friends. A good acquaintance. Nice job, Chris.
I just ordered this kit. I plan to remove the doors and leave the top off. I might fabricate some aftermarket half doors just to clean it up a bit. Also looking into doing a full roll bar for it. Definitely going to lift it and add bigger tires on custom rims.
Something that I think would be cool would you completely customizing a kit how you want it with spark plug wires, aftermarket wheels, heads, air cleaner, ect.
WAW just love it, makes me remember when I was younger when my dad takes me to his family farm, they just to have 2 of those hard top, now this days people make so many off road modifications to them, I want to have one of those kits to build it, thanks for sharing this one man
Chris you’ve done it again! Great looking job on the model. Looks like a nice kit. Was nice to see your comment on round2 September spotlight yesterday. Nice to see that you tune in. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing how you use markers and pens to detail your kits. I can’t afford a lot of paints. Your videos have brought me a lot of joy working on my own kits.
Really like to see an fj 45 come out to pair up with this one . I had a 78 red fj40 ,a 77 blue fj40 and a 77 fj45 in Grey. Wish I had them now. Great build as always !👍👍👍
Now I gotta find this kit, that kit came out beautiful! Love the option of a hard and soft top, I have a 1977 Land Cruiser BJ40 mustard yellow and white top.
Loved this build Chris! I had one of the orange looking hardtop ones just after I got my licence as a kid for awhile, I wish I still had it mate, fantastic 4x4. Thanks for all your hard work! Looks awesome! ☺️👍
Great video as always. It hit me that at one point, the music on the guitar sounds a bit lot like Quiet Riot, but I am sure that it is just a coincidence I am merely having flashbacks to the 80s
Hey Chris Shannon here hope your day is going well you need a lion to go with the car it reaminds me of the movie Born to Be Free that would be 😎 have fun
Was looking forward to this build! Yet another one I have to add to go with Revell's Land Rover and the Italeri Range Rover Classic. But the UK plates shown as an option are far too new (early 1990s if I'm not mistaken) when this model was out of production.
Even though these things were the only serious competition for the Jeep CJ unless your talking to a Jeep person or a Land Cruiser person most people wouldn't know the difference between the two.
Another fantastic build and a beautiful FJ - oh sorry, "BJ". haha... I would have liked it better if Italeri had included interior door panels. Anyway, man, you have great taste in music. Every video you make has a great soundtrack - I love it! Happy labor day.
When you hit 100,000 subscribers, do a special video where you strip the years of overspray off that Tamiya stand, clips, and the walls of your spray booth.
Welcome to one of the best video review and build channels out here! Chris got me inspired to start building again after 20 years of my hit-n-miss attempts to build. I gave up the contest builds for more fun to just build what I want with out it having to be perfect in someone else’s eyes.

Thanks!
I worked with a guy in the late ‘70’s that had one. It was a darker blue with a white top, I always thought it was cool!👍
Thank you!
Great build of a great 4X4! I remember wanting one of these when I was a teenager in the 1970s.
Tom S.
Thank you!
“Leaning On The Everlasting Arms” as buffer music …. AWESOME ! Keep old hymns coming (most are public domain /royalty free)
Thanks!
despite I don't like model cars without a "real engine", you've did an enormous model Chris. Thank you for such a beauty.
Thank you!
You're missing out because some of the best kits on the market doesn't come with a engine
Great little model, and good to see how you take the rubber flash off the tyres.
Thank you!
I just ordered this kit. I plan to remove the doors and leave the top off. I might fabricate some aftermarket half doors just to clean it up a bit. Also looking into doing a full roll bar for it. Definitely going to lift it and add bigger tires on custom rims.
Sounds great!
Beautiful Job on the FJ. I had a 68' in my younger days and miss it still.
Thank you!
Something that I think would be cool would you completely customizing a kit how you want it with spark plug wires, aftermarket wheels, heads, air cleaner, ect.
Yes, maybe some day.

Nicely done!
The next level for this Kool kit is a Chevy V8
Photo etch hinges for hood
Sidepipe exhaust
Cool, thanks
Looks like a nice kit. But, I’m having flashbacks to the italeri fire Jeep I built a few years ago. Caused a few gray hairs.
Stay safe 🌲
Thank you!

Wow Chris that Toyota truck came out awesome! Despite it being a curbside kit, it has other awesome details! Love Italeri kits!
Thanks bud!

Thanks a lot

Yeah, I'd love to see more of these classics!
Great build, I remember seeing a solid white one of these on an "Airwolf" season one episode, the bad guy referred to it as a jeep😊❤👍
Even though these things were the only serious competition for the Jeep CJ unless your talking to a Jeep person or a Land Cruiser person most people wouldn't know the difference between the two.
Thank you!
I was wondering how is the ram power wagon pickup build coming along
The soft top looks so close to real. Great build!
Thank you!
The real versions of these go for big money at all the big classic car auctions.
Yeah, Tom Hanks' one went for over a million I think.
Very nice BJ 👍 I prefer short version of the body on this cars but your is really beautiful 😉
Thank you!
Wow! I was thinking this was a video review of the Land Cruiser! Your modeling is really an inspiration!
Wow, thanks!
I WISHD ID HAD THIS AS SCALEMODEL
Links in description to buy yours.
@@hpiguy THANKS NICE
Very cool. Great build . Always a awesome video.........................
Thank you!
It can be 3 model. Hardtop, softop and pickup. Is it available in Indonesia?
Do you use the modge podge to "glue" the windows in?
Yes
I don't know why but I want to build one rough looking with right hand drive to look like a back country Australian truck.
Cause that would look cool, that's why. Enjoy!
That looks great! How many kits do you build a week/month?
2 entire
build videos every week since you subscribed 3 years ago. :) One per week before that, but I stepped it up.
@@hpiguy impressive, the quality of your builds belie how rapidly you finish them . Nice work.
Turned out great Chris as always
Thank you! Cheers!
Such a shame there's no interior door cards on this. great work
