okay so i just got around with watching a bunch of niji en's debut streams like i literally just stumbled upon uki's and yall when i say that the song is freaking beautiful af, im not kidding at all. this honestly gave the same emotions that i get when listening to joe hisaishi/ghibli movies' music, like the warmth/sadness/nostalgic and a lot more emotions are present. its absolutely wonderful 😭

I'm super curious about the conversation that goes behind a song- Did either of you have an initial melody in mind, or general idea of how the song would end up like, or like a general, and how did it end up into a fully completed piece? Super curious about the discussion and work that went into it- But you don't have to answer if it's too much trouble QAQ it's just out of curiousity-
Hey, no problem at all it's a super cool question ! Basically Uki showed me a draft of a song (simple piano chords + vocals) and i built the arrangement from there, slowly adding more keys, strings and elements. I wasn't quite satisfied with the result in the middle of the production so i asked Julia ( a violinist ) to help me figure out a string arrangement that would make the instrumental more interesting ! It's a bit of back and forth to see what ideas work and what doesn't in the end, but yeah Uki already had a strong direction for the track ! I hope this answers some of your questions but feel free to ask anything as long as i can/am allowed to answer it lol

Oh my gosh, finally, the full instrumental! I fell in love with this song when I first heard it during Uki’s live debut (despite ultimately becoming a Takaradachi, one of Alban’s fans), and I’d been wanting to sing this at a karaoke session someday, but I could never find the full track without Uki’s voice before.

I remember losing two of the most special persons to me on the same month. The day i knew about the first person, no longer being here, it felt... so bad, heartbreaking. It was a punch in the face. For days i was filled with pure sadness, there was a lot of stuff happening at the same time and i did not know how to handle it. Well, the other person died like, two weeks after the first. Just when i thought i was recovering from the first. I remember that moment so painfully peacefull. My brother, my cousin and i were just returning from the cinema. We were really happy. Well, that was just seconds before the sadness. We came in the house and we saw my mother and my aunt talking in the living room. The air felt, so rough and dark for some reason. We didnt know why yet. We were called to the living room to talk about "something". And they told us. They told us that person we really loved left us. Forever. At exact moment i didn't really pay atention to what i was feeling. I was way too busy trying to procese what my eyes saw. The first thing i saw was my mothers tears. Seconds later i saw my cousin fall on their knees, and punch the ground, crying, asking "why?? How??" The pain in them was awfully big. A lot of things happened in the house at that moment. I said this was painfully peacefull, because of what happened next. We walked out of the house. The mood was really dark. I was too young to be in that situation i guess. Anyway, i remember it was october. It was cold outside. i looked up at the sky, "almost feeling like giving up", and i saw the most beautyfull thing in the world. The full moon, as bright as ever, irradiating that pale light, in the middle of a empty deep blue sky, shyly being adornated by delicated leaves from the trees, wich looked as they tried to reach such atonishing beauty. Along with the hypnotizing view, my face was being hit by the cold autumn wind, like if it was trying to dry my tears, slowly running down my eyes. It was, a feeling that i never felt before. It was something that could never be descripted by anyone. Or that was what i thought, untill i heard this song. This song, is exactly that moment, trapped in the music. Every time i look up at the sky to see the moon, that memory always come to my mind, allong with this song. That is why this is special to me. Thank you, patterns and uki for this. I have no words to express how gratefull i am.

Thank you so much 😭 I use Ableton as my main DAW, in terms of librairies for the instruments i used quite a lot of stuff from Keyscape, the SWAM violin for the pizzicatos, had Julia Stein help me on the strings (she recorded live violin and viola directly from her studio) If we're going in the details for the piano i used a bit of spitifre labs, and Action strikes for the percussion ! I hope all that info was helpful, let me know if you have any other question o/

I remember losing two of the most special persons to me on the same month.
The day i knew about the first person, no longer being here, it felt... so bad, heartbreaking. It was a punch in the face. For days i was filled with pure sadness, there was a lot of stuff happening at the same time and i did not know how to handle it.
Well, the other person died like, two weeks after the first.
Just when i thought i was recovering from the first. I remember that moment so painfully peacefull.
My brother, my cousin and i were just returning from the cinema. We were really happy. Well, that was just seconds before the sadness. We came in the house and we saw my mother and my aunt talking in the living room. The air felt, so rough and dark for some reason. We didnt know why yet. We were called to the living room to talk about "something".
And they told us. They told us that person we really loved left us. Forever.
At exact moment i didn't really pay atention to what i was feeling. I was way too busy trying to procese what my eyes saw.
The first thing i saw was my mothers tears. Seconds later i saw my cousin fall on their knees, and punch the ground, crying, asking "why?? How??" The pain in them was awfully big.
A lot of things happened in the house at that moment.
I said this was painfully peacefull, because of what happened next. We walked out of the house. The mood was really dark. I was too young to be in that situation i guess. Anyway, i remember it was october. It was cold outside.
i looked up at the sky, "almost feeling like giving up", and i saw the most beautyfull thing in the world. The full moon, as bright as ever, irradiating that pale light, in the middle of a empty deep blue sky, shyly being adornated by delicated leaves from the trees, wich looked as they tried to reach such atonishing beauty.
Along with the hypnotizing view, my face was being hit by the cold autumn wind, like if it was trying to dry my tears, slowly running down my eyes.
It was, a feeling that i never felt before.
It was something that could never be descripted by anyone.
Or that was what i thought, untill i heard this song. This song, is exactly that moment, trapped in the music.
Every time i look up at the sky to see the moon, that memory always come to my mind, allong with this song.
That is why this is special to me.
Thank you, patterns and uki for this. I have no words to express how gratefull i am.

"Deja vuu, I just been in this place beforeee!!"

Thank you so much 😭 I use Ableton as my main DAW, in terms of librairies for the instruments i used quite a lot of stuff from Keyscape, the SWAM violin for the pizzicatos, had Julia Stein help me on the strings (she recorded live violin and viola directly from her studio)
If we're going in the details for the piano i used a bit of spitifre labs, and Action strikes for the percussion ! I hope all that info was helpful, let me know if you have any other question o/
