You should apply primer first, followed by wall putty [1, 2, 3]. Here's why:
Primer creates a better surface for putty: Primer helps prepare the wall by creating a smooth and even surface. This allows the wall putty to adhere better and create a more uniform finish.
Primer seals the wall: Primer can help seal porous surfaces, which can prevent moisture issues and improve the overall durability of the paint job.
Putty fills imperfections: Wall putty is designed to fill in minor cracks, holes, and unevenness on the wall surface. Applying it after primer ensures you're filling a properly prepared surface.
So, the ideal order for a flawless paint job is:
1- Apply primer
2- Let the primer dry completely
3- Apply wall putty
4- Sand the putty smooth after drying (if needed)
5- Apply paint
How can u apply paint directly on putty it will lead to consume more paint so after putty, give one more coat of a primer then paint.
