Well technically Sony was just the distributor. Yes their Imageworks division provided the animation however this is a movie produced by Aardman animation.
I had to watch this movie when it came out in the cinemas back when I was in Primary School, our School did a thing where in November (school ends before December and doesn't resume until February where I'm from) we got to watch a movie at the cinemas with our Entire Grade, each Grade watched a different movie and I remember the big talk at the Time was Puss in Boots (the one from 2011, not the Last Wish that came out recently). When I discovered I had to watch this movie instead, I was disappointed that I didn't get to watch the movie everyone was talking about. I am however glad this was part of my childhood, as it seemed to have become an obscure Christmas Movie because of the overshadow of Puss In Boots. Watching these scenes as an adult now made me realize how great of a movie this was, with all the jokes I never got as a kid, something you don't see anymore in animated film.
1:44 It's funny that even though this is technically a Sony movie, instead of a self-advertising they used a parody brand
