    wow. the impact that a holy and reverent priest has on his flock. it has the ability and God given power to impact so many aspects of a person's life. the effects of a holy and reverent priest, on a person is so far reaching and deep and profound. thanks be to God for his traditional and faithful priests at Mass. the Catholic Church and faith need these priests to have the Catholic faith thrive and flourish. JMJ forever.

    bring back the Baltimore catechism. I'm a product of Vatican II, and I feel like I was jipped from the basic complete teachings of the Church. this video reminded me of this deficiency I had from my formative years in the CCD classes in the Novus Ordo mass. thank God for my aunt who was a traditional nun all of her vocation life, and wore the full habit every day, said and prayed the divine office by herself everyday, and who always taught her nieces and nephews the "old school" traditional teachings of the Catholic faith. although we weren't always receptive back then. I do appreciate it very much now, and I thank God for her. she got my husband and I going to the Latin Mass in 2003. and since then I have felt like I have discovered my faith. there is so much lacking in the regular catechism of the church. I guess that's why the Latin Mass is referred to as the "extraordinary form" of the mass. Because that's exactly what it is. may God preserve the traditional latin mass in all its beauty and devoutness. and may the Latin Mass continue to grow and flourish, for the greater glory of God. JMJ forever.

    that's another thing lacking in the liberal catechism of the Catholic Church. Being taught and learning the lives of the saints. How better to learn about the Catholic faith than by being exposed to the lives of the saints. thank God for parents who teach this to their kids on their own. EWTN used to show a program called "lives of the saints" by Bob and penny Lord. it used to be on 3-4 times per week. Bob and penny Lord both have passed away. very soon after their passing, their show is only on once a week, at 4:00 in the morning. very sad. I so looked forward to seeing and hearing that particular program. even if it was one I saw three times in the past. I always learned so much from that program and appreciated it very much. also, reminds me of my parents who in one of their three connected bookcases, had a three volume burgundy hard cover books called the Lives of the Saints. even included some beautiful pictures of the saints. I think it was from the 1950s. both my parents passed, and could not find that old volume set. but I believe it's the kind of reading material children and teenagers and all of us need no matter what age. very good reference books to have. I love some of the old, black, worn, hardcover religious prayer books, usually in a smaller size. they are a real TREASURE. and because of my health problems and different weaknesses in life, i feel so drawn to them. and I am like a sponge trying to absorb and retain the information. so many of these old books have been thrown away or destroyed over the years. what a real shame. thank goodness for some of the traditional religious publications that try and provide us with some of them. I know I need them!!

None of the stand by asked this poor man if he needed help or who he would want to say goodbye to before he dies. No one. 🙏🏼 I pray the Rosary everyday. Two things: I often wonder and ask in prayer what exactly is it that god asks when he says take care of the poor? There is more there than providing food and shelter sustenance.....also the human body changes in our response and closeness to god. Mother Teresa is example. She hardly slept and she ate very little (I think saints eat primarily so folks around them don’t freak out. In other words they eat because others are watching). Saintly people do glow that can be seen but also felt when around them.

    My cousin spent 2 years in West Africa in the Peace Corps. When he came back he said there's no poverty in America.
    What we think of as poverty is royalty over there. "Poor" people here have $1000 iPhones, AC, Cable tv, cars, all appliances, etc., etc., etc. We also are forced to pay taxes of "social safety nets" which actually perpetuate a perpetual underclass BY DESIGN.

    • @anthonypuccetti8779
      @anthonypuccetti8779 6 років тому +3

      There is much poverty in America. Many poor people in America don't have the things you mention. And having those things does not by itself make someone well off. A person is well off if they have enough money to support themselves so that they live in good conditions and have a surplus of wealth and goods. Having electronic devices does not mean people who live in ghettos or homeless people aren't living in poverty, it just means they have access to mass produced products like middle class people.

    • @tboybers2745
      @tboybers2745 6 років тому +2

      Couldn't agree more. Stability of living conditions and freedom from worry about food and rent is what determines poverty or not. Not access to commercialized goods in a highly materialistic, capitalist society.

      There is real poverty everywhere, in every country (well, maybe not the UAE!) Let us seek out these poor wherever they are, and reach out to minister to them, as if they were Jesus himself. This is a part of simple Catholicism.

    I have a question. I want to know what the limit is. For example if I take a person into my home, feed, clothe and care for him and yet though he is capable of doing more, of caring for himself, he sits and allows me to do all of the work for him. Now this man before coming into my home was poor, and from a bad area, and so I remind myself that he is disadvantaged so I continue to care for him. At what point do I stop? Or do I simply keep on caring for him? At some point if I kick him out am I sinning? Am I a sinner because I am not caring for this person? And what if I get angry? Is that a sin?

    • @novellanurney1294
      @novellanurney1294 6 років тому +1

      No, I only commented from prior experience. Do what you can, set the person on their feet as you are able, if they are full of sloth and indifference it is not for you to care for one that at this point may care for themselves and also return God's love to assist another. May God bless you and may Our Blessed Mother Mary comfort you.

He had been in a car accident 2 months ago and hurt his back. At some point he decided to go back. I'm still waiting for the coroner to release him. I don't say this in any anticipated pity, I'd rather you don't mention it. But , do what you can, pray , spread God's word and live to do the same the next day. Please.

    What about the simplicity of Christ and His Gospel? To add any other requirement (see Galatians where Peter thought he should add circumcision to the Gospel), is to make it of NO effect! And to promote another Gospel (add this, do that) is to be Accursed by God. Saddens me to see Catholics, Muslims, other devout folks miss the simplicity of us SIMPLY handing in our Sin and God, in exchange, giving us the Righteousness of Christ. Just as well that our standing before God can be then seen as 'in Him', since Jesus said: unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees and Scribes ye won't see heaven. Despair? No! Thank God he gives it to those who come to Him by SIMPLE faith and trust in Him (2 Cor 5 v 21, Romans 4 v 5). So SIMPLE that a paralysed dying man in a desert can come to him and be made fit for heaven. No need for any church procedure. All our own righteousness to achieve it (no matter how commendable) are as 'filthy rags' according to the Bible. Doing good is commendable but won't earn salvation. We do works because we are saved and, as the Bible says, we become his workmanship, to do the tasks that He has prepared beforehand for us to do.

      The Talmud calls Our Lady a whore and says Our Lord is burning in feces in hell. Modern Judaism has NOTHING to do with Temple Judaism. The Catholic Church is Israel and Christ being the fulfillment of prophecy is the source and end of our salvation from the Jews. Jews by their flesh are not special.

      There was no talmud before or during Christs time. The Talmud came around from the successors of the Pharisees over hundreds of years and Rabbinical Judaism was an outright rejection of the Church and a reaction against Christianity.
