  • Does the FLEX FX4221 24V Cordless Trim Router really have what it takes to compete with the top-tier brands? We think this new FLEX cordless router stands among the top brands, if not at the top. The macro and micro adjustments are very simple and easy, with high accuracy as well. The 24V battery and brushless motor provide plenty of power and performance to muscle through any hardwood. You can get the bare tool with accessories for just $199, and the kit with the 3.5 Ah battery and Fast Charger will run you about $350. The FLEX FX4221 router is available now. #tools #router #review

I have a total of 3 of these FLEX Routers which I'm gonna set up for door hinges, round over and miscellaneous cutting. I am using the 3.5 Stack lithium ion battery on each unit. This is one of the most powerful finished router i have used.

The small ring is NOT a micro adjust ring. It only rotates to line up with the mark on the collar so you can use it as a point of reference when you adjust with the bigger ring.

And that little collar doesn't adjust anything, its just a reference ring 1/64th increments

Have you checked to see if the 1/2 inch DeWalt collet would fit on the Flex, or the Skill 1/2 collet if you have one?

Do not like the brake, the Dewalt stops instantly, which is perfect for my work.

I mean I trust them. Even company has issues whether it’s the tool or the batteries, shit happens and the better way to judge a company is how fast they respond and what they do. Which Flex has done a great job so far. The problem with the “leaking” isn’t even the battery cells it’s the phase change gel they added to keep the cells cool. They have addressed the issue and recalled the ones that were at Lowe’s. Just an FYI they use Samsung cells in their batteries which is a sign that they do try and have good quality.
