I started life in Battersea in the sixties and started school in Wandsworth and then on to Balham, moved to Putney as a teenager and later in my twenties lived in Tooting. Now live in faraway Northumberland. Thank you for this fascinating montage.
Beautiful pictures. I am a northerner, but spent many, many happy years in London and most happily in SW. I wish there were captions indicating the areas, but great pictures anyway.
Born in London & lived in Putney for a while, loved it there, recognise so many places. Thanks for the great pictures, you've done a good job Jason, keep up the fine work - I have subscribed to you now.
Another beautiful video from your amazing collection of photos of these places that would become so familiar to me in later decades . Thank you so much for sharing your work , even including my old school housed at the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building on Wandsworth Common back in the late 50’s to mid seventies .
I was born in Streatham, before the war, and our favorite shopping center was Tooting! We used to get the tram the 'Amen Corner.' Is there still a location by that name?
Hello 👏 @@EditorDudesPlayList Amen corner is the part where if your driving through Tooting Broadway towards Streatham, there is a Barclays on the corner and that’s Amen Corner. So basically you could go left at the lights and end up at Streatham common or you could turn right and drive past Figgs Marsh and end up in Mitcham. I was Born in Balham and grew up in Battersea, a council estate called Badric Court on York Road and then back to Balham in my teens bottom of Bedford Hill famous for the lady’s of the night 😱 and also Streatham Vale and then Mitcham. So South London Born and bred 👍 although when we moved to Mitcham it was the first time our address said Surrey even though Tooting Broadway was spitting distance and so was Colliers Wood on the other side. What about you ❓❓
Thank you for this film, I really enjoyed looking at each and everyone one. My family on both sides, lived in this area for 200 years or so. I was born in Wandsworth in 1965, so have many fond memories of my own. The photographs made me smile. I had to keep pausing the film, each time I recognised a street. I was captivated by the people in each one. I got to thinking, that the people in these films are possibly my ancestors. Are these photographs in a book? I would be interested in a couple of them, if anyone knows. Thank you 🌈
Christ what have we done to the world!!!!! Pre WW2 looks so different, most of this flattened, even not rebuilt till late 60s. I remember playing in all the rubble in Battersea as a small child thinking it was quite normal for London. Peabody buildings overlooking the thames inhaling all the soot from Steam engines and coal fires.
Whoa.......can this be slowed down? It's a guessing game. Large number of these lovely old photos are not instantly recognisable so maybe some captions?
I hesitated to criticise such a fine production but it would be nice to dwell on each image a little longer. I find it best viewed at half speed but this spoils the lovely music.

atmospheric, beautiful, kept rewinding. Lived there, when humans lived lives, many thanks for the upload
These pictures, as well as those in your other UA-cam submissions, are nothing short of being gold dust.
Astonishing.
Thank you. I spent many years living in, growing up in, learning from and loving those parts of London. So touching to see them.

Stunningly real photos . I can’t help but wonder if I’m related to anyone featured 🥰
Fantastic editing and video Sir. Makes me sad for a culture lost really. My culture.
I know. Full of imported shite now! Not all but you know what I mean.
Nice upload. So much has changed and "progressed" though can't but feel "something" too has been lost?

@@pentirah5282 Certainly is, still there
@@pentirah5282 hello, yep Amen corner has had a Barclays Bank there for years, not sure if it’s still there 🤷♂️
@@sgd.6830 Was that opposite Streatham Common?

Thank you 🌈
If they aren't your ancestors it's quite possible that they're their friends, schoolmates or colleagues.
Just 'wow!'.
Our wonderful country when the religion was mainly Christianity and English was our main language.LOVELY PICTURE MONTAGE. MANY THANKS 😊😊😊😊😊
We are all just a photograph in time.... spooky

So interesting and lovely music. Pity each photo could not be annotated.
I grew up around Roehampton and Putney.
Did you spend time inside?
Lovely
Great pictures, I lived in Wandsworth from 1961 till I was 18. Would love to go back. Did you come from Wandsworth Jason?

by the way what is the music.
Oh. Tooting is a name of a place. I could for the life of me not make out what you meant by "tooting in old photos".
A good compilation, but some more appropriate music (reflecting the eras shown) could surely have been found. None of it is in copyright any longer!
Wow love this Jason! Do you have any old pictures of the fazl mosque in Southfields. As we have some but wonder in your archive
mitcham
Probably interesting photos, but you can`t get time to see them. V poor editing
very poor photos, not your fault, just hard to find good photos.
now you think you're in Africa or Afghanistan ...
