    I wonder if her being a woman helped in this situation because it snapped them out of that senseless mob mentality attack mode. It's a huge risk for a woman in these situations, but this isn't the first time I've seen a woman put herself between a man and an angry mob and successfully defuse a potentially deadly situation. There was a particularly iconic one where a black woman protected a KKK member from protesters.

      @@MasterLee2011 Her name is Keshia Thomas. She said that months later, a man came up to her in a coffee shop and thanked her for what she did. That man was the son of the man she'd saved. Her view is that it was more valuable to have maybe changed that man's perspective and led him away from following in his father's footsteps than to let hate fuel hate and beat a man to death. A quote from her that I think is particularly powerful is, "You can't beat goodness into a person."

    There's two types of people, I've learned while being a firefighter. The ones that make that split second decision to run towards danger to help others, and the onea that freeze and usually need saving! Sadly, as I get older there seems to be less and less individuals possessing that "Hero" quality.

    Not a life saving thing but had a nasty accident riding my bicycle to work, broke my arm and had a concussion. Driver of a small bus pulled over, helped me onto the bus and drove me and my bike to the hospital. I passed out on the way there so don't remember too much. My parents wrote a thank you letter to the company hoping to get in touch with the driver but we never heard back

      @@MegaraGumdrop yeah, i think my initial comment wasn't tailored to stood as a thesis statement 😅, as i wrote it in a sarcastic way. But to be clear, that comment was supposed to call out that particular guy who just stood there to record a video instead of actually helping the victim or deescalate the situation, hence making him ironically "brave" (for which he doesn't, because as i stated he just stood there indifferently). I applaud the woman for her courage and vigilance. What it triggers me is out of all people around on that area, no one helped the poor man, apart from the woman, and this particular GUY just stood there and watched. The "he deserves a recognition" is sarcasm too, because clearly all he just did was to watch that poor man get beaten up. I hope I make myself clear.
