- Santa Monica Pier is a popular tourist attraction found in the beachfront city of Santa Monica in western Los Angeles County, California. The Pier offers Pacific Park, a full-service amusement park, combined with plenty of restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, as well as an entertaining arcade with more than 200 games. Pacific Park’s solar-powered Ferris wheel is a state-of-the-art technology and one-of-a-kind in the region.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the usual tourist-packed pier is now almost empty and quite. The entrance to the Santa Monica Pier (from the Arch) has been closed and was moved to Ocean Front walk. They've limit the number of people inside the pier. All rides in Pacific park were closed. The buskers and performers were gone. Such an usual sight.

Santa Monica is my favorite US beach. It is very peaceful every time I go there. Lots of activities too.

Don’t believe everything you see here. In reality, it’s overcrowded with tents and homeless people! The whole LA county area is total disgrace.

@@philadelphian7814 while there are homeless in any city...the scale/growth/ratio is way higher than say Denver, St Louis, Atlanta, Boston. Now is CA a draw compared to harsh winter areas...yes. But that was a constant factor 60 years ago.

Here in Russia , tourist places on the black sea are full! Most people went on vacation abroad , but now Covid-19 and all rest in Russia.

That flawless sky!! So magnificent! I live in ny state...we dont get more than 5 days a summer with perfect skies like here....i visited many times. ..i can still see the blue sky perfection......plus 200 or so miles north is the most beautiful placr on earth....Big Sur...m
