Running a hone is generally speaking NOT the move on an aluminium cylinder (with nikasil that is) if done in an easy manner and without too much pressure it can still work out. Just a heads up- great video!
awesome stuff woody. I ride a 21 husky fe 450 and love it. Only thing I would say is you should presoak the clutch fibers before install. Love seeing the bikes on the channel mate.

Not into bikes, but I understand the appeal to those that are. And Ill happily watch a good bike resto piece of content any day.

Totally get the bike feeling. I ride an old VFR750 Honda. Clears my head every time I go for a ride.
Oh the ring a ding dings take me back...... used to love the the power band of a 2 stroke, a sort of mild turbo boost that wasn't if you know what I mean.

Yes! I race Bikes and I have put a KTM 525 SMR engine into a 1988 Yamaha FZR400 Chassis. Also I have many Subaru's so this is the perfect channel for me.

Hey woody, you should always pre soak your clutch packs in oil before refitting, to insure there is no binding of the plates. Good day sir✌️✌️✌️

If you continue to have starter issues Buy the starter and crown wheel From a 2014. On my 2011 I could never get it sorted until I bought the new products. They change the gear ratio on the crown wheel.
Yeah I’ve been told! So far so good! Just need to put some fuel in the tank!
Love it mate, I’ve just done the same thing to my 2010, sticker kit is the only thing left to do and haven’t ridden in 3yrs - top vid🤙
I just did a topend on my 2010 ktm 300 exc, over torqued the head and the result was rings didn't seal and cost me another piston and rings. Could see at every head bolt down the cylinder combustion was passing the rings. 27nm is the tension specs for the head.
300 carrot crank. poor old ktm just about done. with the clutch use gen friction and steel plates and great upgrade to Barnett springs for under $40. also add hour meter for $60 ish. great video mate.

Very cool! I've got a 2002 200EXC, so pretty much everything you just did, I recently did to mine. It all looks the same! Best thing about these is that they are so easy and cheap to work on. I don't have electric start, so I'm not dealing with those issues. Unfortunately after I did my top end rebuild, it has developed a bog on wot, so not sure what that is... maybe it needs a new stator or carb needs more adjustment. Have a good time out there!👍

I’ve got the exact same bike! Ktm300 had it for 12 years and rebuild it a few times! I will never sell it and my wife knows that! It’s early let me down and I fkn love it! Also my started has never works either hahahha no need started easy!
Husq FE350.. love it ..didn’t want a 2 stroke this time and didn’t want the weight of a 450

nice. I've serviced a ton of bikes and never had much luck with all balls. usually 6 months and they leak again or wheel bearings seize. your old ktm should have 48mm Open chamber forks. Very easy to service

Awesome to see the bike running, riding a dirtbike is absolutely the best way to detox the brain. Looks like you have already upgraded the other major KTM PIA, the kickstand. Mine liked taking a nap on its side every chance it got becauce of that POS. shouldn't be on its lid even if you arent riding her now. If you need a low stress tour of glassy let me know!

2007 wr450f ride the same trails as you on the sunny coast. I also need to do that more often.
Read somewhere from an electrician that low voltage burns out electric motors. Ie low v = high amps for the same power.

The 2008-11 framed ktms are fantastic models and feel slim compared to the 12-16 models. She has the wrong headlight set up tho, you’ve got an 05 mask on it which kinda looks weird hehe glad you replaced it…get out n ride :-)

Great stuff, the later 2015 bendix and starter motor with bronze bushes greatly improved mine. Quite the investment tho I dont plan to ever sell.

Its only hidden if you havent been watching the skid factory since day 1, i remember a couple of occasions where Al has ended up injured atleast, cant say i remeber woody sporting a riding injury on cam, deffo posted a couple of clips in the videos over the years, me i love bikes, started with a 89 dt50 when i was 11... havent ridden in atleast 14 years now, would love to ride again, maybe when my girls are big enough to be on their own, cant really get 2 kids on a crosser, or any bike without a sidecar, so im bound to 4 for now
Nice bike dude. One thing and I'm not having a go or being a dic but, try not to use a hammer to remove the piston from the rod. Small end bearings should be pushed out with a press of some kind otherwise you will end up with unwanted side play on your big end bearing which btw should only have minute amounts of side to side and up and down play.
I do like a two stroke. Nice one chaps. Audio was very quiet this episode xx

Not a big dirt bike guy but road bikes is my favorite thing, fork seals weren't to bad to do on my bike I pulled them out took them to work and told the ex motorbike mechanic to show me how to do them 🤣

Mainly because I felt it wasn’t needed.
dont need a clutch.low idle ,click in gear and flat change up,and rev match change down
Circlup pliers are cheap as chips mate, I know its being replaced but spares ..... you know 😂😂😂

Just wondering when kevo is going to get finished? Seriously, I could have got it going like last year.
I’m in no rush to “finish” Kevo, whist it’s close to hitting the track there’s still a heap of money I need to spend to get it sorted.
