Emmet Walsh RIP!
Emmet Walsh plays such a great character in this movie. You just HATE this son of a b-- . Max is doing everything he can to stay clean and this guy has to bust his chops. This really is one of those great hidden gem Dustin Hoffman movies that a lot of people have never seen.
The Greatest after Donald Pleasence
O ya that’s the Coen brothers guy!
I agree with you except on one thing Max has a very set view of his own ethics which are at odds with societies norms....this set him up for failure in terms of reinsertion.
Blood Simple
@@kdohertygizbur Ned Beatty is there too.
Fuck. The acting in this scene is incredible.
May he rest in peace.
My favorite Dustin Movie
Never trust a guy in a plaid suit.
M Emmett Walsh deserved a nomination for this movie
they all did. one of the best movies of the 1970's
Gary Busey should been nominated, and Dustin Hoffman himself... seen this on tcm few months back, brilliant movie
M. Emmet Walsh was superb sidekick in every movie he made. This performance steals the show from Dustin. Great movie. RIP Walsh.
Great background footage of pre 80's LA , before the older side of LA was torn down for office buildings
Ya its better, the late70's actually.
M Emmett Walsh is so good here, his performance in the Cohen brothers 'Blood Simple' is excellent also.
This was M. Emmet Walsh's supporting actor Oscar performance for which he didn't get nominated, IMO.
AN AMAZING FILM
"Just playin' a game."
this film is the best
If 'Rico hadn't taken the bus to Florida with Joe Buck but gotten well again and toughened up, this is what might have happened to him.
Thats my momma when she was little!!!(:
Really?
+buyerofsorts yes when she was like 7. she said she was too scared to talk. so she decided to look at him. sorry i forgot I commented on this so I barely saw this.
Your mother was in what's sadly one of the undervalued & forgotten great films of the 70's.
What a crappy parole officer all over a burnt pack of matches. He had no track Mark's nor his eyes glassy. I liked what Max did to him on the hwy and humiliated him back big time .
Edward Bunker was a great writer. Dog Eat Dog was great.
0:05 Gosh, those darned automobiles.
And look what it's like now
@JJonahJameson Based on a book by Eddie Bunker called No Beast So Fierce.
Mr.blue from reservoir dogs
Did he ask if she was white?I read a book a long time ago called The Catalogue of Cool and they named this movie as having the coolest cast of actors.Walsh, Busey, Harry Dean Stanton and Theresa Russell.I can't argue with that!
Gary Busey character should have asked permission to fix heroin.....and then should have picked up his trash.....corrections is a racket.....??? So the parole Officer dosent care .
