As soon as an officer is down goes over the radio all bets are off. Every available police unit and Ems. That's why there is a mix of unmarked and marked units because it doesn't matter if your robbery, homicide or just patrol. As soon as that comes over the radio you have a brother down and you need to get there ASAP
@johnson smithson You probably have trouble getting off from the couch and into the car to go to the drive-thru at McDonald's. I doubt you'd pass the academy physical. Actually, most cops are quite physically fit and do not have a lot of extra weight on them. The stereotype is rarely true unless it is some country bumpkin. Others work out regularly because part of their job is sometimes needed to wrestle people to the ground who are fighting them.
+10inlong No this was a code 99 officer down incident. The officer was injured while pursuing an armed robbery suspect through the back yard of a equine training facility.
10-codes are different from state to state actually...in NH where I work 10-99 simply means "local option" and 10-33 is officer needs assistant or in need of an additional. 10-34 is our officer down, or in need of code 3 (lights and sirens) assistance all hands on deck type of deal.
@@baguettelauncher8839 1 Police Officer gets killed by themself 3 or more police officers is better than nothing because nobody will be garunteed to die
This is how you succeesfully rob a bank. Have an accomplice shoot a police officer on one side of town. Wait until all the cops leave and then rob the bank on the opposite side of town. Real smart sending all the cops to one location, huh?
Reggie Smith 😕 Depending on what city you're in, and what are the circumstances of the robbery. Hostages, or people shot, or maybe just handing a teller a note would all depend. Do be aware dispatchers can always call in units to break away, or call in county, state, or other law enforcement agencies from any nearby region for help, I've seen that happen too.
if I remember correctly this was a call where an officer had been shot. His injuries were not serious and he made a full recovery. What you saw was his brothers and sisters backing him up. At the end you can see when the code was canceled and they start shutting down.
am i the only one that noticed that the last group of cops that came in the lead unit had no idea where he was going and pulled over to let everyone pass so he can follow them to the final destination
shit went down and they needed officers to deal with the situation, a lot of times so many will respond is so they can keep a tight perimeter around the area. Or maybe there was a pursuit in the area. The helicopter looks to be moving around. But im not a cop, just looked like it
No I think you're exactly right. It was more than likely a foot pursuit because it looked like they may have been trying to set up a perimeter (especially with one of the last cars lagging in the back). But who knows, I could be completely wrong
Apparently a hot woman stepped out of the shower to let her cat inside, lost her towel and locked herself outside by accident. First unit on scene asked for assistance to get the door open. Code 3 response.
Every Police Agency has different OFFC DWN PROTOCOL in certian parts of California protocol states a minimum of 20 units will respond to lock down the scene
Well, with the chopper and all, They are probably saturating an area and trying to have a perimeter set up to catch someone that might not be too cooperative. it could be anything. the patrol car slowing and stopping at a fence line in this video gives me a sense of a perimeter being set up. You can't tell what the call is about just by the way or number of units responding but in general, the need for a large area fresh manhunt for a dangerous person needs this sized manpower. BTW, if it involves multiple jurisdictions or agencies, they use plain language now. A 10-7 in one town means I need a tow truck, in another it means I want lunch. Honestly. 11-99.
Ehh not really how it goes. There needs to be a confirmed officer down call, the panic button clears the radio and opens up the mic for 10 seconds so everyone can hear what's happening. Accidental presses are rare at that, but even if it did happen you'd hear the dude sitting in his car or eating lunch lmao
@@RC-ns6eh depends on what system the agency has, some panic button systems only send out a sound effect over radio and tell the dispatcher what unit pressed it, and doesnt do any other fancy stuff
If I remember correctly, code 3 is a stolen car, isn't it? Usually that person has a gun and other things going on, might have just robbed someone or stole something, etc.
code 3 is responding with siren and light , and this video is clearly a code 10-00 wich is officer down all units respond code 3 / or code 11-99 officer need help ASAP all units respond code 3
Agreed, I've seen serious officer assist calls here in New York, and if its Life and Death, I've seen those Crown Vics Haul Ass Over 100 mph Down City streets.
This is hardly over the top. Back in the 1980's I worked as a dispatcher in a city in California with a population of about 300,000. 2 officers checking a suspicious vehicle were shot in a city park. With surrounding agencies, there 54 units on scene before it was over. Everybody goes on an officer down call. That's just the way it is and should always be since the citizens cops protect will just stand around and film you with their cell phone while you are murdered by some dirtbag.
Get over it and don't be a child. You never know what kind of emergency they're responding too. They do what's best and until your privy to the information, do us all a favor and keep your negative comments to yourself.

Don't make fun of this. If it is serious, IT IS SERIOUS. All units are required to respond.
+Edward Pennacchini wow all of them?

it's very serious when the dispatcher says something like all units response to a blah blah blah" code 3 then well... they do.

+10inlong No this was a code 99 officer down incident. The officer was injured while pursuing an armed robbery suspect through the back yard of a equine training facility.
If you had a scanner it would probably say "all units 10-99, respond code 3." And 10-99 means officer down all patrols respond.
SixBlackTech switch to tact two
I think its 10-999 for officer down because 10-99 is for wanted or stolen
Maybe but “10-99” typically means shots fired need immediate assistance/backup
Nope 10-99 means officer is distress

its depends in where ur from

Yep looks like an 11-99 to me as well.

I've witnessed this kind of response in New York too, 11-99 is a Very Serious Call, Not surprising when multiple Police Agencies Respond.
The over the top part is where in one frame there is like 7 cop cars. That is over the top and a waste of taxpayers fucking money.

Why is it over the top? An officer needs help and other officers in the area would kill for another to save a life and a fellow brother
That was an orcrenstrated response to something.... quite impactful for every Officer that responded.
What made it over the top? How did you determine that? Maybe that was an under the top response based on the situation they were going to.
I have heard of this type of response only once or twice. Usually when shots fired goes over the radio.
smh was north Hollywood, Dallas or East Baton Rouge over the top?
what siren are they using?
am i the only one that noticed that the last group of cops that came in the lead unit had no idea where he was going and pulled over to let everyone pass so he can follow them to the final destination
Three things that make cops respond like this A) officer down, B) a women in danger,C) a child in danger.

The only thing that amazes me is they all came from the same direction. Were they all hanging out at the same place instead of patrolling the streets?
When there is shots fired or an officer down the officers are instructed to go towards the scene no matter how close or far away they are.
