Thanks for teaching Kacey's Slow Burn!! She got album of the year last week at CMA so it's really cool to see this! And thanks for the subtleties and variations on playing chords for a slightly different sound. I'm in my late 50s and learning guitar and you and Keith Urban are my main guitar teachers!! I so appreciate you and your channel!
This has been one of my favorite songs lately. Getting back until guitar and your tutorial was great. I gotta learn how to pick those single strings before the full chord like you're doing.
Damn tht sounds gud Marty. Haven't tuned in for a while but you taught me how to play guitar abt 10 years ago and here I find myself again. Can't thank you enough brother . You truly are my guitar hero and I knw im not the only one. Thank you , thank you. 👍❤👍❤👍❤👍❤👍❤
I never tire of hearing "Something From Nothing". That's one great song. I especially dig the part you played here. I hope you play it at the up and coming Iridium show and video it.
Loved this! Especially the variation on D that is formed like C but up 2 frets. I always play C that alternative way as it lets me play all 6 strings. I thought it was called the chord C/G...
Yes....it makes sense that that D chord is a step down. :) I was a little confused, but then I thought "Oh yeah". The Beatles do a similar chord to that for "Taxman".
Oh I absolutely love this, Marty! Thanks so much. I am on it! My request is for the fingerstyle tab for the song Better Bridge by Kenny Chesney. Thanks again.
I hope you see this even though I'm commenting a day later but I hope that you know how great of a teacher you are. everything I have learned is from this account or the other one, Guitar Jams. you're so great, don't ever stop teaching! I do have a request though... you should do more finger picking songs you know with delay so it sounds ll dreamy hahaha
Please do Re: Stacks by Bon Iver, it’s a great song but their is so much stuff going on in the background that i can’t quite figure out. And nobody has put out a decent tutorial on it yet
*Dude, you're so nice, you should be our new math teacher. And science teacher. And History teacher. Not our Music teacher, because he's actually a cool guy just like you, like Jack Black and his school band. Martyn Schwartz, by far the nicest man on UA-cam.* Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun plz!! :)
I'm late to the party here, but I find this song to be mesmerizing. Do my ears hear a Gmaj7 replacing the standard G chord in a few spots? A little James Tayloree vibe..or maybe a Taylor/Neil Young hybrid.
I have to admit in the UK I've never heard this song before, so i just checked it out . Nice . We in the UK have to endure Cheryl ? on the Xfactor. I did notice there was a slide guitar in the band. The Stone Roses do a slide thing on Love Spreads . Ha i know I'm in a majority of one! Ok, how about a lesson or three on High Hopes by Pink Floyd. Peace!
“Mother” Pink Floyd...solo too please! Love you Marty I learned to play guitar from your Channel I’m still struggling with this tune please help me out! Cheers!
I've not heard of Kacey before, but that is a very lovely tune indeed. Am I correct in thinking it's in the key of Gmaj and can solo using G mixolydian?
Hey Marty ! I love the way u teach... Just a small request just before Christmas, Please Could you do Christmas Lights by Coldplay.. Cheers !! Peace and positive vibes to you!!
Hey Marty, have time for advice? I was wondering if it is worth learning where all the whole notes are on the strings. Iv been doing that for a while and have read others saying not to. And to do scales. But iv also read vise versa and that scales is like the caged system but leaves you missing a lot. Any suggestions on what to practice and what else to look into? Iv been focusing more on trying to understand theory and get a good sense of what im actually doing instead of playing within scales only and chords. Thanks a lot man!! You are a great guy for offering free lessons to people and I hope you are doing well.
Can you please do a tutorial on "Time in a bottle" by Jim croce, pretty hard to play but honestly your guitar makes sounds you never expected it to make.
I saw your old video on Waiting On The World To Change and it was absolutely wonderful! I can't find one on Speak For Me anywhere on UA-cam, though. Can you help me out?
Marty can you do a lesson about of “cant take my eyes off you by frankie valli” or “love of my life by Queen” I wanna learn these song for my gf. I’d be really grateful!
Hello Marty please can you also do the heartbreak station from Cinderella please...looked everywhere but nobody did the video with chords....looking forward to it
It sounds great I have heard them online and you definitely tell the difference. I bet sounds even more wonderful in person. Bye the way I’m loving your Blues Course I got from GuitarJams.
Hey theory nerds! What key do you think this is in? It has all the materials of D (Vsus2, ii, IV, I//Vsus2, bVII, IV, I). Everything is diatonic, except that bVII which is simply explained as being borrowed from the parallel minor, Dm. However, it really seems to hone in on A as the tonic, which leads me to believe it may be D Lydian? It could be in A (Isus2, v, bVII, IV//Isus2, bIII, bVII, IV) but then it would be reaching out to more non-diatonic chords (though the bVII and the bIII could also be explained easily as being borrowed from A's parallel minor, Am). What do you guys think? 🥳
Hey guys, thanks so much for supporting me by making sure it's "MartyMusic"! www.MartyMusic.com
Marty Music hey man you have really helped me out in progressing in guitar:) ! Could you do a tutorial on the intro of Jungle by Jimmi Hendrix?

Despite being a relatively simple song to play, it's very satisfying and good to see a lesson on it
The most important thing about becoming a good player is to get very good at playing simple things..
I've watched several tutorial videos you break it down simple , no stuttering ,no back tracking. You are the only dude I watch man appreciate it.

This has been one of my favorite songs lately. Getting back until guitar and your tutorial was great. I gotta learn how to pick those single strings before the full chord like you're doing.
