Lets hope for the best - i know theres a likelihood we can overthink the pick and goof up the pick but to act like we haven’t been able to draft quality HOF worthy talent with our 1st rounders is disingenuous

Excellent 2 parts . All the complicated aspects which need consideration. After all this research I come back to the dogmatic Sarr supporters. BUT I have now a good rationale for picking Sarr, and then trading down.. I want 2 picks, one for this year and one for next year.

I’ve convinced myself I like Clingan over Sarr but I’ve been flip flopping so much with this pick 😂, I don’t know what it is I just feel like he will end up being a better/more helpful player. I don’t think I would take Clingan no.1 overall though, but if we can trade down and get a good deal I would trade down but only if I was sure he would be available, if there’s doubt he wouldn’t be available then I would keep 1st pick... ahh maybe I would take him 1st overall? I don’t know... I reckon he’ll be good

I totally agree with this pundits assessment. Sarr is the better choice at #1 and Trey will elevate Sarr's game. Most importantly you took "O" with the 6th pick, sohe should be starting and him being undersized Sarr helps with that defensively and potentially rebound wise as well as great upsize.
Clingen is NOT very athletic and slow, which does not suit the Hawks well. They are much more athletic with a front court of Sarr, O and JJ.
Hawks will make a Big mistake if they go with Clingen unless they get draft picks and trade down.

Hey Brad, if you were to project which prospect would likely project as the BPA after a year or two under their belt - could you see Clingan over Sarr? Personally feel like Sarr has better upside due to his ability to switch onto multiple positions as well as his ability run on both ends and pick and pop. Wouldn't be the end of the world with the other dude but definitely feel like he could possibly be a greater liability on both ends of the court than Sarr. Thanks for your great coverage and work as always!

Anyway, I don't agree with any of this. In fact, just listen to Brad and his guests. They don't have a single legitimate reason as to why Sarr is this intriguing project besides "he has the physical tools". Not one. It's all just a theoretical scenario where if everything clicks perfectly, he might become a good player. That's not what a no.1 overall pick is, unless you want a Kwame Brown.
Ben Simmons with a shot? What shot? He shot below 30% from three in Australia. On low volume. His release is slow and inconsistent. His catch and shoot threes are among the ugliest I've seen. So, what shot?

Hi Brad, I appreciate the great work that you do pertaining to the Hawks. Brad, something just feels off to me regarding the Hawk and this draft process. Assuming all these rumors are true, why don't these players want to come to Atlanta? I heard that Pascal Siakim did not want to be traded to Atlanta because he would not re-sign with them. Brad, assuming this is true, you now have players willing to play for the Wizards than the Hawks, really? That is rock-bottom to me. Could it be that players don't want to play with Trae because he is perceived as a ball hog. There seems to be some kind of negative cloud hanging over the Hawks. Keep up the great work.

Sarr was in Atlanta and didn’t get a look see off rip that’s just foolish..
And I’m glad we didn’t get Siakim he’s not a top player bro.
I’ll rather have Kat and I don’t dig KAT like that..

But realistically they’re not a championship team.
      I’m not scared of them.
In my eyes it’s more about coaching and then having the players.
Quin doesn’t coach xs&os on defense.
He doesn’t. Even without Trae what some of the casuals say is the worse defender ever the Hawks defense was atrocious.
So that ends that debate and Trae was gone almost 15 games. The offense was hot garbage way too many 98 point games struggling to get off shots.
But back on the original topic outside of straw bring demonized by the nba I just don’t like this regime, nor any Atlanta regime sense Ted sold the Hawks to Time Warner or whoever had them first.
If I’m the Hawks all they gotta do is not fumble the 🏀.
      They need a system .
Either it’s Trae and shooters and a dominant big, or it’s strictly ball movement with Trae off screens.
I prefer the former because I’ve seen it work and that’s our best players style. You don’t take the ball out the best pg in the leagues hands.

@@Dave-nm8uf so if what you say is true last year the Mavs weren’t even a playin team with Luka and Kyrie. Yall funny so Trae washed up but average 26 & 11 last year google those numbers and see how many players have done that in nba history ? Bet that return comes down to about three players if that.
Currently Trae has never had what he needs a REAL ALLSTAR IN THE FRONT COURT!!!!
Even the late great Kobe only had success when he had a BIG WHO WAS AN ALLSTAR. Same as WADE HE HAD SHAQ AND LEBRON AND BOSH.
Steph had Bogut and Draymond and KD ..
So if you build a team you have to build it the right way. Draft or trade for a real big who can score and defend in the paint.
