Eyes strain also increases drastically because the distance between each eye gives each eye a slightly different image due to the nature of a privacy screen protector. It gives a cross eyed effect for some
I don't quite see how that could be. If you look at your phone straight, I mean holding it just in front of your face without any vertical tilt, both of your eyes are looking at the screen at EXACTLY the same angle, only from two different sides. If the privacy protector had a different dimming level depending on from which side you look at the screen, then yes, what you claim could make sense. Otherwise I don't think it does.
@@arturl4019 the privacy screen protector DOES give a slightly different dimming level at different angles, it’s a gradual dimming effect, the distance between each reveals this when holding your phone vertically. Since most privacy screen protectors don’t work when holding your phone landscape style, this doesn’t happen when you have it turned landscape style.
@@slump45 I think either you didn't get my point or I didn't get yours. I'm not denying the grade of dimming depends on the angle you look at your phone at. But in the normal situation, when you look at your phone straight, I mean not from any particular side or angle, each of your eyes looks at the screen exactly at the same angle (just the opposite sides), thus there's no difference in the level of dimming for either of the eyes. Same when you hold your phone horizontallly, doesn't matter. That would only be different if you looked at your phone from one side, like for example showing it to someone next to you while you're looking at your phone at the same time. In such case, indeed, each of your eyes would perceive a different level of dimming. But not when you look straight at it.
Love that the tests are so thorough. I personally love to use privacy screen protectors over the regular ones so this is a very informative video! It’d be great to see Otterbox and ESR in the mix for the future though, and maybe some ‘4 way’ or ‘360 degree’ ones.
Yo estaba entre el Spigen y termino siendo una decepción en todas las pruebas que he visto, el de ESR ha sido excelente y es el mejor calificado en Amazon
I do appreciate all the work you did making this comparison video, but I wish you actually showed the viewing angles for each protector, so that we could have a better idea how this works in practice. You also refer to viewing angles like "82 degrees" or around that. What I've seen on some manufacturers advertising is referring to viewing angels like 28 degrees more or less, which tells you at what angle (degree) the screen gets dimmed when viewing it from the side. I think this gives a bit of a better understanding of the privacy capability than saying that the viewing angle is 82 degrees from side to side. But of course, it depends how you look at it. The screen protector I bought and installed on my phone was advertised as "28 degrees (dimming)", and that's the angle when the view is supposed to get blocked when looking at the screen from either side. But in reality, the screen only starts dimming when viewing at 45 degrees going fully dim around 50-55. And even then the screen content are not completely invisible, as you noticed yourself. You can still see "something," especially in a dark environment, but not in daylight though. That's probably still good enough for most users. For me personally, the biggest downside of having a privacy screen protector on your phone is the loss of brightness which you need to increase occasionally, and also the tint of colour the protector adds to your display. It kind of makes the colours look somewhat warmer and less vibrant. But it's either you take it or you leave it if you care about the privacy feature.
Got the tech armor, it was ok but cracked after falling out of my pocket getting out of my car. Just ordered flolab and I'm noticing they are now cheaper (30-40) and they have a lifetime warranty so they'll replace if it breaks.
This FLOLAB installation kit is just WOW for me SUPER EASY with nice , precise and spotless finishing and jobble done . I luckily watched your video prior to getting a screen protector.
When looking at reviews on Amazon, people mostly complain about losing the ability of using the fingerprints when using privacy protectors so it seems like a common issue. Any comments about it in relation to those tested here?
I would like to add that I bought the Flolab privacy protector cause of this review. I lightly dropped my phone about 4 days after installing it, and the corner completely shattered. I would not recommend.
My eyes get so strained with some of the privacy screen protectors, could you please tell me Which ones had the best image clarity? In the video i can see the full rankings for only a few ones Btw I like the “reviewer” not influencer style, hope to see more of the same!

Your final points system is a little confunsing with the abbreviations and when you say out of 15 is that total or individual number. So 1 is good and 15 is bad per. Why don't you have a total overall score. I had to go back write down all the categorys to decififer abbreviations then add up total scores then analyze my self which features are most important to me. Which one doesn’t affect sensitivity? as in it doesn’t even feel like you have a protector! on every single one I have tried the touch on my iPhone does not recognize the finger touch which I believe you should have mentioned in your ranking
Spigen doesn’t affect touch sensitivity at all. I recently got a new phone and my carrier had offered me a screen protector that I could get an unlimited supply of and I was like cool why not? I won’t have to buy one. Which backfired, they gave me a Zagg SP which retails for about $60 ; problem is it very rarely recognized my touches, so I ended up buying one anyways to replace the one I was given. I’ve been using Spigen for years. Their cases and screen protectors. And honestly, this is not a plug, they are my favorites and not as expensive. $20 gets you the whole kit and it actually works.
You showed the JETech in the intro but didn't even mention it after. I bought them for my iPhone and Galaxy. Doesn't seem much worse than any of the others and is only eight bucks.
