Hello, for the pop quiz first question. How come its a class 3 mod 1 instead of a class 2 mod 2? There is edontulous posterior in the back and two missing areas in the form no? Thank youuu!!

The third molars usually do not get replaced so it is assumed that it will not be replaced and thus the space is not counter as a space in the classification

Hi, while it may appear that it is a unilateral space, in fact the 3rd molar is missing on both sides. That being said. Missing 3rd molars are seldom replaced fro RPDs. So they would be most likely not considered in the classification . Hope this helps
