Don't get me wrong, I actually like to cook and clean. ( most of the time :P ) It's just I find it a basic human skill that everyone should have and practice, regardless of gender. That being said, I think the message of this song is deeper than that. Mothers tend to offer unconditional love and be overly protective towards their children, forgiving every error, which is totally fine while raising a child. But same dynamic and expectations are absurd between 2 grown adults. Women are not supposed to accept any type of mistreatment from an adult that is as capable to take care of himself and to practice discipline. This can apply to fathers/men as well, of course.
