I don't even play Apex but find the video fascinating and agree with your ideas. You conveyed the problem with the rank system and your solution extremely well.
I agree, however, someone like me who works 60-70 hours a week, it can be difficult to find time to play. I consider myself a competitive-casual. I’m good enough to hit plat without too much difficulty, but solo q after that can be frustrating, especially with the limited time I do get. Pubs would probably be a better place for fun, but the competitor in me wants the challenge of ranked. I do like the idea of not being safe in a rank, definitely would increase the skill gaps👍🏻

Since ranked came out, I have always been saying that you can reach the top ranks if you just play enough games and don't fight anyone. Which is of course not the way to play the game, but there's many that do.
I also felt like, if I played solo in Ranked ( which I rarely ever do anymore, cause it's broken af). I get put with absolute bots and play against people that actually understand how the game works.
I would totally love it if you could actually derank from Plat 4 to Gold 1, that way there's an actual penalty as you said.
Also the reason there's such a big gap after D4 is cause at that point you pretty much only face Masters & Preds, whereas before you'd face your rank only pretty much.
I am interested to see what they will do, if they do anything. Cause it does need a lot of rework and for a long time already it's been 'ignored'.
I've been looking for info on the Razer Raiju tournament edition controller but there are no decent reviews on UA-cam. Are you by any chance planning on doing one in the future?

I get so many teams in Plat/Diamond that either don't want to fight at all and I have to gain Kp on my own or they don't know when a fight isn't Favourable and rage literally every fight
The biggest issue as a pred player since the beginning is solo que. You will never get teammates at your level. You are always paired up with people not as good as you. While facing fully stack squads in parties. You literally need a party with mics in order to succeed at a high level.
A solid team is a must diamond and up
@@AirBearGaming i was going to say much the same, it’s the reason i’ve always done the grind to diamond solo then stopped at diamond 4 because I don’t have a squad to play with on the regular. And solo queue is a nightmare half the time lol
I know this is off topic but my Aim Controller has a weird problem that it has stick drift that only happens in endgame and is at its worst when i'm aiming.

Tbh diamond I hated it because me and my team would literally wipe the enemy and get instantly third parties because they just sat there and waited for us to kill the squad
To answer the Bulk players at Plat/Diamond
A lot of people stop playing after hitting Diamond, that dive trail is such a huge reward for those grinding players who aren't above average gamers
Another problem is the reset at the end of each season... players that skip a season get booted down so far, and the lower you are in the ranking system the easier it is to climb, that you're no longer a silver in a silver lobby you'll start to see Plats or Diamonds in a Silver lobby that it makes it super irritating to be placed up against extreme players so far above your level. And it happens fairly often sadly.
I've always hit high Plat or Diamond 4. So don't go blasting me and say " just get better" lol
Last thing, higher cost for entry means more held back players and avoiding engagements... I think earning less placement points and more kill/assist points would be good for the game

Tbh, I disagree with the notion that bronze should cost points. Before I explain, Respawn is likely experimenting with a new ranked system in arenas, where you have to do placement matches before the game decides your rank. Also, you can derank from gold to silver in arenas ranked. So, some of your complaints are being answered there. This is: no one cares about ranked arenas lmao
I think my main problem with the idea of deranking tiers is that it encourages three stacking. Now, there's a fair point in that you should likely already be a three stack for a good rank climb, but what if I just want to be a solo? Should I be punished for the game matching me with said fleeing Crypto? I remember a particularly infuriating Seer that just wore white armor into three gunfights despite us pinging blue/purples along the way.
SBMM has the nastiest habit of matching me with these kind of players. Maybe a derank system in BR similar to arenas will push these kinds of players back into silver/bronze, but I think it will just lead to fewer matches played, as people hate deranking. I know if I deranked from the plat 4 wall, I'd play a lot less ranked games out of spite lol.
One idea I did have is a teammate rating system. Your squad could rate you based on your callouts, performance, and teamwork. Lower rated solo players match with similarly rated solos. Of course, this system can be abused by hot droppers giving their teammates unfortunate enough to get one clipped bad ratings.
Another idea would be to force teamcomps. I think a big reason why solos fail is poor team comp. You're just not winning may gunfights with a Crypto-Rampart-Loba trio lol. Maybe if ranked required one player of each class (assault, recon, support, defense), it would lead to smarter picks. If you get only one assault pick, who would waste it on Fuse? A big problem would be that first pick would always pick an assault character, however.
There's just a lot of ideas and not many good implementations right now lol

It's flawed. Bronze needs to cost something, it's ranked their shouldn't be a free tier. I think de-rankling is fine but would drastically hurt the casual player base who just don't have the time to keep up and maintain that diamond/master rank. I think they need to take away some placement rp. You shouldn't get any placement rp until like top 8 or something.

So at some point u have to camp and play position because every time u fire your weapon every body comes towards u and they get easy KP
I do like the idea of bronze costing some RP to get and losing RP because I work 60 hours a week and barely have time to play so when I solo q on ranked i get placed with against people with high skill levels while my team are new players to the game. So the little time i get to play it, it goes to waste because I can't quit ranked without being penalized.

Sadly with Season 10 being out rn and the whole changes they have done to weapons meta and legend meta seems to point that they are pushing for more causal players to play this game lol. They almost don't listen to the pro scene at all half the time
They need to reduce the rp in diamond its extremely difficult to go up from diamond especially solo and you can't really camp cause you need the kills to move up the ranks

Make bronze cost points, increase points cost of every rank while also increasing kill points. Increase queue time in diamond and up lobbies so less plat players join
I understand what you are saying and I agree BUT people play for fun (even ranked) and if it wasn’t fun (because you couldn’t progress) people would stop playing it and that’s not what game creators want. They look for a middle ground BECAUSE YOU CANT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY

Apex ranked can`t be fixed at this moment. Respawn need to remake whole RP system casue "get 6 kill/assists and hide for placement" is`t a bad idea.

You're fuckin crazy, I don't want to spend months to rank up, Ranking system is not only for streamers and pro players, it's also for casuals who want to play a little more competitive.

Long story short. Check out my Apex TikTok when you get a chance lol, @AppVee think you might enjoy some of the clips I’m at like 50K on there.
More importantly, and I’ll shorten this, I use the elite 2, love the paddle quality, switched after scuff plastic paddle kept breaking, elite 2 got stick drift, currently using Power A 2.
While I prefer the feel of the elite 2 over my Scuff I really miss the two side Sax buttons which I used for interacting and nades, scuff has discontinued the Vantage 2 line, is there any other controller that you know if that has the four paddles and two additional buttons? I always watch your controller reviews and just haven’t found anything with more than the 4 paddles I’m after the Vantage.
& if you ever want to run some on PC I’d love to get some games in, I always stop at D4 since I go in solo lol
