This is such a valuable video and incredible lesson. You have all the elements of a great teacher--you can break it down into attainable steps and then build it back up into an aspirational technique. The part at the end where you improvise really helped me understand how to put these licks/ideas into context, and the part at the beginning helped me identify/hear the triad pairs in your solo. Thank you SO MUCH for making this video and sharing your deep knowledge. Can't wait to dig into more of your videos!!!!! You deserve so many more views!!

That lesson gets you my subscription! Most of the videos deal in minor chords. The gospel music I play at church every Sunday has very few minor chords. I have been trying to figure out how to use triad pairs in major keys. I will certainly work on the scale degrees of 7, 1, 2 and 3. Thanks so much!

Great sound! Your soloing at the end reminds me on Kenny Garrett on his Songbook record. Great lesson, man!

To use the triad pairs concept you need to know how to relate to chords in a progression. eg II V I etc. Your examples could all be applied to a Cmaj7 in the I of a II V I pattern.

I wish he would stick with tenor when discussing these formulas. It is tough keeping up with transcribing from alto to tenor. You might say need that practice. Not at this time. I could tackle one problem at a time. Cheers.

If you understand the concept behind it. It is also easily applicable on tenor. 😊 thank you bro

Cool info, but players should try not to make a performance sound like like an exercise or etude. Make it more unpredictable.
