With an easy ODBC and ECU tuning hack, you can easily convert this to the unrestricted version. After a 3+ month wait I finally got mine last Friday and am loving it. I am a learner though, so I am more than happy to keep it at its original LAMS configuration which is plenty power!
Yep, Bilgin, not a major job to up the power and revert back if you needed to sell it as LAMS. I've ridden a heap of LAMS bikes and the first thing I said when I got off was "surely this isn't LAMS Approved" It's power is so easy to use it so feels much more than 53HP! What an awesome starter bike much better than the 250cc bikes that I had to learn on! Stay safe and enjoy the Melbourne Lock down again! 🙏😂
I’m thinking about buying this bike and I’m hoping it’ll have enough power to keep after my learners and like the idea of improving the power. How do I do the ODBC and ECU tuning hack, or who could do it for me? TIA
@@imwatchinout4u Hi Chris, I was really surprised with the power of this LAMS bike. I'm not a must have 100hp type of guy, I enjoy riding any bike. In fact my daily is a LAMS BMW F650 GS and I've been riding bikes for over 30 years. I've road raced and been in the bike industry for 20 years. I mean how quick do you want to get to work? But I get if you want to do long distance with the wife and her 5 pairs of shoes and 2 hair dryers you may need a bit more power. I would suggest it would be as simple as buying an unrestricted computer either from a wrecked bike or an aftermarket type one. It wouldn't stop me buying one though, if in a couple of years it's all too hard sell it and buy something else. Because it's LAMS it will hold it's value so well anyway because 1000's of Learners every month have to buy a LAMS bike! So you can always sell it. It was such a cool bike, I could see myself on one when/if the BMW finally dies! Thanks for the watch, I've got some good stuff coming after Lockdown is over. Ride safe and Subscribe!
hey mate, how did you find it as a LAMs bike? I'm a returning rider (over 20 years ago) but need to get my Ls again and was thinking of getting one of these. How did you like it and do you think its a good L plate bike? cheers
@@Aramis7 Definitely. I've been commuting to work pretty much every day for the past year with this bike. But still, just today, it was a nice refreshing evening and I chose to extend my 25 minute ride back home to an hour-long trip through Albert Park and the CBD here in Melbourne because I love riding this bike so damn much. If I am restricted to a LAMS bike for 3 years (the current regulations in VIC) then this is the bike. Sure, I might "upgrade" once my restrictions are over, but as a LAMS bike, the Trident is perfect!
Thanks for the positive vibes mate, in about 2 years these will be great buying on the second hand market, can't wait! I'll get one just to blow the big boys away! 🤣 Ride safe.
I did test drive the 80HP version in Belgium and it's a very good bike. Price here is 8.295 euro with some options and a little discount that's 8.635 euro. Options are the grab handles, USB kit, tank pad, engine protectors and frame protectors, fly screen. That makes a 318 euro discount which includes 61 euro labor. No on road or delivery costs here.
Lucky bastard, I'd love to ride the 80hp version. It would be more than enough power. Price works out to be 600 Euros more over our restricted version. I couldn't get my money out quick enough for the extra power! I just rode the Aprilia Tuono 660, 100hp in a similar weight and it was a killer. REV VIEW will be up soon! Thanks for watching, Ride Safe and Subscribe!

@@CompleteRider I have been living in Australia, I have a house in Portland Vic. Have been there last time in 2013, back in Belgium to work and to help and nurse my parents who both passed away now. Both the XB and the Nissan would sell for drug money at the moment, the EB will need a couple more years yet, make sure they are all getting looked after. I've got to do a run down the GOR soon to film some on-board footage for a project I've got coming up and I can't wait!! Sorry about your folks and I think by early 2022 you should be able to get back into Oz. First on the list buy a bike and go for a ride!! Stay safe:)
Great video well done. Have you ridden a Duke 390. I own one . If yes Is this bike a lot better . I like low down torque. When does it peak out thanks. I did subscribe 👍
Thanks for the watch. Yes I have ridden both. The 660 feels a bit more substantial and a bit more sure footed but the KTM is more nimble and great to chuck around. I haven't ridden one yet but I'd love to have a crack on the Duke690 as I love a big single. Ride save and thanks for the sub and give the free slow speed course a go! ua-cam.com/video/BDHV-YPKKxg/v-deo.html
Yes a noticeable difference in power but they really are completely different bikes at a different price point. You will probably have more fun riding the duke hard to keep up with the 600 LAMS bikes. And that's where the fun is😁
