I've heard 100s of Bluegrass pickers and singers..I'm 88 years old and your band had got a thing called perfection big time. The girl banjo player is absolutely great and the lead singer on mandolin has a voice that is perfect.. You'll go far, Backwoods Bluegrass!!
@@bobmiller9313 I agree but the old saying goes. "if you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it." These folks always look so solemn and never smile. In my 67 years I've played with a lot of musicians(most nowhere near as good as these folks} and had the most fun. Couldn't help but smile and be happy. When you play such joyful music so well you have to show it.
Love it!!! Near perfect blend. The banjo player is good enough and confident enough to not overplay the guitar or singer. A cut above the typical banjo player. Excellent!
@@dereklea1183 I've played with banjo players that even playing rhythm, the rest of the players just as well put their instruments back in it their cases and take a break; even with a beginning banjo player
This boy's got a fine crooning voice. Dead on pitch, great lower register, and sense of the beat make his future in music assured. Keep singing, friend.
I love bluegrass, but I can't understand how they can play such happy music and NOT smile! I caught the lead singer almost smiling at around 2.30 and Sarah smiling around 2:57. I'd be grinning like an idiot!!! This made me smile!
The banjo has the distinct. Undulating wagon wheel quality. Plunking and spelunking stacatto over a country road and combined with the crisp chucking of guitar and Mando really stitches the ease and upbeat 2gether seamlessly
How many of us had discovered them back in 2018 as I did? If to watch their clip of White Freightliner from about 2015 or so we'll see that Sarah McCollaugh (now Stewart) has mastery of the banjo then too. As I followed them throughout the years, and realized that they disappeared during 2020, the recently the emerge I realized that Sarah married and started a family. It's great to have them back together now though, after 3 years of silence!!😊😊😊
This was the first Backwoods Bluegrass song that caught my attention. Thought this boy is a pretty good singer and from there my opinion of this group has only gone up. Today I think they are one of the finest bands out there.
Damn good band! Outstanding lead and vocal harmonies.. Perfect timing. metronome chop.. beautiful roll on the banjo.. bass right on top of the beat and not overplayed.. and rhythm guitar rounding it all out. Tastefully done, indeed.
When you walk into a business, and they treat you like you are some kind of piece of trash, well, this song sings right true to the heart of it. Just don’t go back there, ever, it’s that simple. They tell you to hit the road, Jack, so no need to go away mad. Just be glad to know what places to avoid. There are plenty of other businesses more than happy to serve you, you know, the ones who have great, consistent, repeat customer business.
Sign them up. With Merle gone, we need someone to replace him. The ole boy with the mandolin has a great voice. Great banjo, bass, guitar, and mandolin. Excellent presentation folks! From Southern Indiana. Go IU!
You guys are seriously good. Lead singer has fantastic voice and banjo girl is killer - other guys provide solid backup. Really really good- hope to see lots more vids with banjo girl showing more of her great smile.
All I can say is The Grand Ol Opre is missing out for sure ! I'd buy a ticket to see this group of. Very talented. People ! All are very good in their talents !
These guys are great! Never heard of them until this video popped up in my feed. So glad it did! They are fellow Hoosiers. Lead singer's voice is perfect.
Yes, yes, yes, yes! I'm a big Merle Haggard fan and I think he'd be very proud of all of you with your rendition of this song. The harmony is spot on and the picking is clean. Keep it coming! You're one of the best things on you tube. I would love to see you come to Planet Bluegrass here in Colorado.
Thank you sincerely. I'm an old Australian bloke, play bluegrass banjo and guitar, although not much now because my bones are getting old. I bought my Deering banjo and Maton guitar in the 70s. Nice meeting you too.@honestj820
I know Bluegrass is blue. But I can never get my head around why the Genius on the banjo never smiles. She gives so much joy to us (they all do), yet never seems to take a little for herself? I'm an averageish fiddle player, but I can not stop myself from smiling from the first note to the last every night, it's not a conscious thing, it just happens... I'd love to see her smile more!
The girl with banjo playing deadly cool and makes it look easy ...it's one of the best banjo playing I've heard and seen .....
Girl Banjer and fiddle players are so sexy!
She is one of the few bandjo pickers that has a natural tone almost as smooth as the great Earl Scruggs.

The banjo player is great and very nice to look at.
Sarah is not only a great banjo picker, but she engineered, mixed, and mastered the recording!
Love it!!!

Admit it: it's the banjo that fills seats.
The guys voice is just wow
Beautifull Banjo Picker!!
Lol! The poor guys don't stand a chance. Kudos to them for being great musicians and putting together such sweet harmony.
That cute little banjer picker just makes it look too dang easy
Not sure why UA-cam suggested this but glad they did, a great sound. Listening in Scotland
This guy's voice is for real!
That banjo player plays beautiful and is beautiful…
Excellent band! Best banjo picker I’ve ever heard, and I have been listening to bluegrass since 1971!
This boy's got a fine crooning voice. Dead on pitch, great lower register, and sense of the beat make his future in music assured. Keep singing, friend.
Good banjo picking and the lead singer is really good, got a great voice.
Sounds good. Banjo has a sweet soft sound to it. And the banjo picker is real good and smooth.

Best rendition of this song I’ve heard. Shades of Crowe on that banjo…

He has the perfect tambre, encompassing the great singers. Merle, George Jones, Ray Price. Even Waylon.
That banjo lick @ 2:51 is just killer!
And that smile that follows too 😊
That's Sarah McCollaugh (Stewart). Awesome young lady on the banjo.👍
Stand outs - lead vocal and banjo playing. What a good song too. The banjo melodies are exquisite. She got it down. 10/10

Yes, I was just trying to word those very thoughts
There IS a God!
😂 Agreed 💯
I simply love the banjo and not forgetting the beautiful harmony.
I like the girl! The rest are good too!
the banjo doing the intro solo is pretty cool
The lick at about 2:50 is the coolest lick i ever heard any banjo player play. I wanna learn it. That's one cool customer.
I keep coming back to listen to this. Can’t get enough
Excellent vocal and very tight performance by the group. I;d go see these guys anytime.
Just incredible..Austin has an extraordinary, unique voice with perfect pitch and great range.
Thank you, you guys are the best ever
Mighty fine! Austin Harper has one of the best male bluegrass voices in whole, US of A and the group's harmonies are superb. Glad to have found this.
Everybody knows mandolin players aren’t allowed to sing!
I learned a couple of new banjo licks - thanks, Sarah!
Great leads, harmonies and banjo playing! Awesome.

That's a really nice banjo being played by a great picker. Banjo looks like a 1960's Gibson RB-250
Pick that Gibson bowtie. Sounds great, first time I've heard bluegrass Merle. Great job!!!
