    1. a 75%-85% win rate strategy is nearly impossible, don't aim for this. You can be profitable with a 40% winning strategy, but you MUST incorporate risk management like he has mentioned; NEVER let your losses go below 1-2% on any given trade, ever.
    2. Backtest, backtest, then backtest some more. Even after backtesting a strategy hundreds of times, you won't be fully prepared for live trades, but you can at least maximize your chances.
    3. Patience is absolutely KEY. I've rushed into many trades and been stopped out because I didn't wait for the proper entry. KNOW what the proper entry signs are, and stick to them no matter what. Sometimes you'll be waiting hours to find the correct entry; have multiple tickers on the go to keep you busy.
    GOOD LUCK!

      @@aigo24 that's the things that gurus never tell you (and probably they don't know themselves), and most of the strategies out there are just with 40% winning rate, and the risk-reward is probably no better than 1:1, long term losing strategies for all..

      Get exposed to various trading strategies, track the things that are important to you making trades as a day trader ,for example, you could get started by tracking trading halts. Did stock go higher after halt resume , lower? What was the price of stock? Float ? News? Etc that's kinda an example of things you want ask when tracking. Excel is good for tracking stats, Evernote is good for taking screen shots of strategies in action. Good luck and stay curious about the markets if you want to succeed.

      People replying to your comment are telling more about how to trade than the video did. Maybe he should do some tutorial videos on different strategies, like how he scalps, or determines the 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 ratios. I was also frustrated watching something for "newbies" that expects you to know the lingo, or the mechanics.

    • @gappuma7883
      @gappuma7883 3 роки тому +9

      He may be a good trader but a lousy teacher. It’s reward to risk meaning you want to potentially win(reward) 3 times the amount you put on risk. A good money management system is only risk 1% of your total capital so if you have 10000 dollars the maximum you want to potentially lose(risk) on each trade is $100. Now the amount of shares you take depends on where you set your stoploss and should be below a support level for long strategy or above resistance if you short the stock. If a stock costs $100 and you see support at 99.5 you put your stop at 99 for simplicity. For a $1 risk you can buy 100 shares. For the 1:3 example your profit target would then be 103 or a $300 profit.

    Can you do a video on how exactly do you set your stops? For example, if a stock has a level at 5, and you are going long, how exactly do you set stop?
    There are several ways I use, set a hard stop so once that price is printed at level 2, you are stopped out. The downside is that you can really easily get taken out and price a lot of time immediately reversed.
    The other way is 2 candle stop. You set a mental stop price and if it hit it, you dont take it out until the second minute candle is formed and still below your stop price. You cannot get shaken out like this but you may be killed if its a straight crack down.

    Dude you can’t say 1:3 only happens 30 times a year. It all depends on how tight your stop is and 1:3 should happen basically every day.
    If you’d say 1:30 now maybe we’re getting close

    how tf do you find such high win rate

    • @HC-kr9qm
      @HC-kr9qm 3 роки тому

      that is non-existing unless you have years of trading record, even based on that, winning rates could change any time. There's never a 100-year stable winning rate for even the exact same strategy. And no strategy is as old as 100 years to prove its stable winning rate.
