Alas, I made a tough decision to sell this bike. 😔 I just wasn't street riding anymore and it deserved to be ridden. Luckily, I found a fellow Buell owner who loves and respects these bikes and will give it a wonderful new riding life. 😁
After 20+ years riding other bikes,I bought a buell thunderbolt S3 Now I know what a real muscle bike feels like ! Its unbelievable how much better it is after all other bikes, get one before they get pricey and have a blast😀
I’ll be picking one of these bikes up eventually always really good deals on the bikes gotta find that sweet spot to buy before they start going way up in value 😁
No problem at all, Jared! If I ever find out more info on the exhaust, I'll definitely post it. The only other thing I can think of - in addition to the windshield - is the passenger riding pegs were taken off. I hope you find one and enjoy it!
Hey thanks! I think the seating position feels comfortable for me - I'm 5' 11". Of course I just do the fun short distance riding thing on it. I don't really have a lot of riding time on other bikes - other than dirt bikes - so my comparison experience is pretty limited.
It does have sport ergonomics but it is not as brutal on your wrists and back as say a 2006+ Yamaha r6 lol I daily drove one for a couple years and it's much more comfortable than your average sport bike but still sporty enough to enjoy the twisties. Hoped that helped you bud 👌🏍️
Brandon I love the bike and I’d like to get one. The sound yours has is amazing and one of the best sounds from a buell, even though they all sound great. Do you know what kind of muffler you had? Were there any other mods?
Hey Jared, though I am not a 100% sure that this is what my Buell had done to it, I wanted to provide you some information from a fellow Buell owner that might help. He said he did a similar modification on his Buell muffler where you basically cut open the big exhaust can under the bike, remove the baffling, then replace the baffling with a straight pipe, and then weld the exhaust can back together. He said that you can find small bike shops out there that do this for people all the time - though there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. And it is essential that when the exhaust is modified, the computer needs be tuned to compensate. I hope his info helps you out. Oh and besides the windshield change, no other mods on the bike.
The design to use the frame to store gas or fuel may not be significant to lower the center of gravity as the weight of the frame goes up, but then this design is for racing I guess so it may decisive on a race track!
@@brenttate9299 when I read my previous comment even I dont understand what I meant Haha lol.. I was try to say.. I thought those rear swingarms buell start to install from 2007 models.. I was wrong..
Hey Chance, as far as my experience goes, it's a big motor and will definitely get hot, but I guess I haven't noticed it anymore than say how hot other bikes will feel. Of course, I'm usually wearing jeans riding a street bike. Now if it is unbearable after 20 minutes, then that definitely sounds suspect regarding the bike. My knowledge is very limited, hopefully someone else can provide more useful commentary.
Thigh fryer...these bikes are sometimes called that. The exhaust runs close to your leg there on the right side. On warm days I can feel mine get a bit hot sometimes on my leg. But never really a huge issue. Going real slow speeds with a large air cooled engine like this will sometimes get hot for the rider. Always wear pants and boots when riding anyways.
The reality is that they haven’t made Buell bikes in over 15 years, so yeah, it’s definitely a challenge that keeps growing when trying to find parts. 😕
For me, the XB12R was a great fit. Again, I'm 5'11 and about 165 pounds, and I felt comfortable managing the size and handling of the bike. Hopefully when you go look at a bike, the person will let you test drive it - or at the very least sit on it. The biggest sport bike that I've been on was a Hayabusa (but that wasn't the bike experience I was looking for). You know, maybe you might consider a cruiser style bike in the 1200cc range and up. It might feel better to you fit wise. Just a thought.
It’s the stock exhaust - however, I was told by another Buell owner that he suspected that the previous owner may have modified it a little because he thought it sounded more “throatier” than other XB12Rs he had heard.
the empty space between the front fender and the front panel looks modest because a nicer panel would have to be on it. so the front mask looks really bad.. from the design. there is something missing underneath then it would look nicer
I was only brave enough to take it to 108. They are fast bikes, though they are not comparable speed wise to say your typical Japanese production sport bikes. But with that Harley engine, for me it was always more about the “rumble” than the “race”. 😎
Programmable race ECM wrap the headers larger gallon per hour injectors cut holes in your air box and of course of other than stock exhaust and of course valve springs that's the major limiter on these is valve float as rotac helped design the heads
@@brandonwatsonmedia I have this exact same bike. It's always been one of my favorites to ride. That sound!... Hit it hard, shift to 2nd gear, full throttle, front tire pops up gently... It's a beautiful thing. I couldn't imagine myself selling it, but who knows the future. I wouldn't miss the engine burning up my ass through the seat though...

Had an 04....Amazing bike! Props to Eric Buell for this masterpiece

I'm still listening this amazing engine sound! Mr. Brandon you cursed me 😂😂😂😂
Haha! 👍
Big torque rides. Eric Buell is a man amongst boys. Too risky to own in 2023. Nice trophy’s.
Looks like a work of art. I fkn love it
Oh that is wiiieerrd, it's dope but I was NOT expecting that sound out of that bike
LOL 👍
Pride in Buell ownership

Badass!!
Sorry. My phone didn’t load all the comments. I just see where the question was already presented.

amazing bike
Nice I’ve had mine three months now :) I just uploaded a video. Mine has the XB race pipe
That bike sounds amazing! And nice matching Alpinestars jacket! 👍

I think Harley dropped the ball on a great opportunity.
That’s because they care more about dentists in leather over real riders
I have to get one.
Beautiful Beast .. the rear swingarm looks like from 2006 and less models .. or I didn't know that they do 2007 models in that colour
did you not hear him at the beginning say that this was a 2006

I just bought the same bike and I rode it home, after about 20 minutes my right thigh was burning up. Have you experienced this if so how do i fix it?

Probably a Hawk or Drummer :-) My stock muffler only has one outlet.

I’ve take my 09 fire bolt to about 128 so I’m guessing 130 is about max
With a few mods you can get it to go between 160 and 180

No risk. Easy work and a a push rod engine. As long as you don’t crash one you can keep it alive easy
