That's really unusual for Enrique to forget someone who's interviewed him in the past. He usually remembers (better than they do) where and when he last met them and what they talked about. He seemed genuinely upset that he'd forgotten this one. He really is so sweet!
How ironic, Enrique has never held any concert or performed here in the philippines even as he sometimes come here to visit his family and relatives. Perhaps, he still feels that he is not welcomed by his mother's kababayans or that filipinos don't appreciate his music. He is a global superstar and filipinos recognize him through his hits like bailamos, hero, escape, somebody's me, could i have this dance forever etc.
I heard that he kinda felt bad with Filipinos (he is part filipino because his mom is filipino) way back when he was not yet a global superstar this was in the mid to late 90s. He was already "sikat" in Latin America and in Hispanic communities. All the while, he expected that would be received warmly here in the philippines, because of the fact that he is part filipino and his mom told him lot of nice stories about the philippines and her roots, unfortunately, he was virtually unknown in the philippines. No filipino record label would release his album here in the philippines and they wouldn't promote his album here because his songs were in spanish. Who would buy a spanish album, even if you say that the singer is filipino or half-filipino and even if you will promote him as a latin superstar? Filipinos wouldn't embrace his album like mexicans or colombians or the Argentineans would. Filipinos onlylearned about him when he was already a global superstar after the release of Bailamos.
