I'm studying Geoscience at University of New England in Australia........I really value your videos! Thankyou so much! I love all your topics. I'd love to study under your guidance!
In highschool (dutch) i ditched geography because i was super bad at topography, which my overal grades couldn't buffer. Thanks to UA-cam i can now learn a bit about the interesting things without having to worry about getting passing grades. So thanks for these videos.
You're fabulous for making such a well-planned and thorough resource to teach the basics of Environmental Science. I'm going to be starting my class in a week and want a leg-up, since it's a shorter, accelerated, 8-week course--a first for me at this institution! Again, thank you. I hope the teachings you've made public here spread far and wide. : )
I'm studying MA in NRAM - Natural Resources Assessment and Management. In fact I am moved with your video. Let me thank you for your presentation. It's of great support in my study.
im studying environmental management/science for my major, your videos are really helpful and im glad i found them!! theyre helping me get more of a head start before im enrolled and theres a lot of information that i greatly appreciate :)
Hello and greetings from Sydney. I am very pleased that you've started making new videos. I have followed your videos for years and now I have a new range to enjoy. You probably don't realise just how much effect you have on irrelevant Joes like me. If I could make one request, it would be 'please don't stop'. If this makes you happy, then good. You deserve it.
Hi, this is a bit off topic, but I am writing an essay on the algae problems that Lake Okeechobee has to deal with. I'd like to have some interesting material concerning those problems (sources). Thanks in advance!
Yeah, that is a major problem for the people of Florida. Typically, these problems are caused by runoff from farms that contain a lot of phosphorus that then dumps into the lake and promotes algae growth (phosphorus is typically a limiting agent because it is fairly scarce in most ecological systems and fertilizers remove those limitations which is why the algae goes wild). I will be issuing a lecture in the coming months that covers this issue. As far as references go, the local water quality control board should have all of the documents you need and they should be both public and online. Try looking there. Good luck!
Not exactly stoaked on the term ecosystem services. It’s basically using corporate speak to describe nature. Given that environmental science is an interdisciplinary field and includes aspects of social science. I think there is a need to critically reflect on the terminology used.
I am interested in majoring in this, though I'd learn more about it and what we study more. What are other names for this major? I sometimes see env science/study/engineer/sus management..
Bart Kamps glad you think so. We are rolling out the rest of the series over the next couple months so I hope you’ll be joining us for those lectures as well.

Environmental Science is the name of the undergraduate major, but many people specialize once in graduate school.
@@EarthandSpaceSciencesX Yeah the ones mentioned, all of them are under grad.
