    I'm from Dhaka. It's 36°C, feels like 46°C here. Just a few mins outside air conditioned room gets me sweaty all over. Imagine the people who work outside in construction or carpentry, especially as there are tons of development infrastructure projects going on. Every day I try to be grateful that I at least have access to cold water and air conditioning.

    94 again today (July 5) in Minnesota but rain is finally on the way and it will be cooler tomorrow. How are the bugs out in the woods? Deer fly’s and horse flys are terrible here but the state bird (mosquito 🦟) hasn’t been too bad. I guess it’s because it’s been so dry.

    Cotton is cooler in summer than poly for example. Cotton is bad in winter.

    • @HomesteadJay
      @HomesteadJay  2 роки тому

      Theres a saying "cotton kills". Cotton doesnt wick out moisture or sweat. Id recommend an underarmor or some type of athletic shirt for very hot weather. You will be hotter in cotton than a athletic shirt.

    • @Mojokiss
      @Mojokiss 2 роки тому +2

      @@HomesteadJay cotton kills because it is so good at keeping you cool when wet and gives hypothermia to high altitude hikers once they start sweating.

    I survived working in extreme heat by using the following free hack;
    1. Freeze bottles of water.
    2. Tie a pair of socks together at the toes.
    3. Place two frozen bottles of water inside the socks.
    4. Put the sock cooler around your neck.
    5. Tie the loose ends together and tuck inside your shirt.
    6. Will keep you cool for about two hours in extreme heat.
    7. When the ice melts you have ice water at your disposal.

    On e again you have hit the nail on the head!, however, wearing a black net cap is not advised, but a straw hat with a descent brim can hep keep you cooler, douse it with water every once in a while helps also, light colored shirts is good advice as well, but covering up is another wise tip, if done correctly! Man doesn’t live on water alone, and we all know sports drinks are also a joke, but when we sweat we lose more then water, we loose minerals as well, and sodium is one of them, ( don’t salt your water), but watch your diet instead things like a balanced diet of fruits,grains,nuts, protein and vegetables as well will help when dealing with heat, but rest, and looking to work in the shade, or in a draft is recommended.

      @@HomesteadJay another thing covering up does is limit the exposure of bare skin to the elements, and wearing light colored clothing helps with spotting tics, the large brimmed hat shields your neck and face from these as well!
