One of the best plein air sessions on UA-cam. Instant Follow!
Jewel of the day: “...if you take the preciousness away from something, and you have nothing to lose, then the opposite is also true; you have everything to gain.’
Majestic words, thank you Ken Knight.
I’ve been very impressed with this mans work for many years
Kenny, you're a legend, mate! To those asking silly questions or making silly statements about music, paper... go fly a kite in deep water. This is a little taste from his DVD series (I have all 3 and they're fantastic!).. Ken is a brilliant, expressive mad genius filled with passion and purpose. For Christ sakes the man has cadmium running through his veins!! Turn it up Kenny!!
I accidentally discovered your artwork on Pinterest and even happier you have a UA-cam channel. There's something about your color and value choice that adds a surreal lighting effect thats I am totally mesmerized by. New fan.
Make it look so easy. No fuss, and straight on, Love it!
Love the paint scraper, it creates so much energy and interest. Cheers.
Good Advice "Get out there and be prepared to try different things". Great work, and you make it look so easy, as professionals do. Plein air is far more difficult than most realise.
One of my favourite artists. Thanks Ken for the insight and the invaluable tips. Now all I need to do is go and do the same.😎
Hiya Ken, awesome plein air video! Thanks for doing these, and I'm sooo glad to see that I'm not the only one that comes home with more paint on my face than I've managed to get on my canvas. My wife says I have two kinds of clothes, those that have paint on them, and those that will. Paint on!!
I love how he has paint on his face and doesn't care! Top man!
There's more paint on him than on the canvas lol. Great vid fella 👍
Que frescura y espontaneidad para lograr esa pintura tan divertida. Se ve como disfruta interpretando el paisaje.
I watched your painting works at north Sydney today. Like them very much. And checking your profile when I back home. I realised I watched your videos for a long time.
I love the way he’s absolutely covered in paint, like his kit. I’d love to see the next owner of that car! That panel he painted, wow. If you scaled up his tools you’d be using a yard brush on a 16” x 12” canvas, boy he has great control.
That’s really gorgeous, Ken Thanks.
I LOVE PAINTING PLEIN AIR, I AM BRAZILIAN BUT I ALREADY PAINTED IN THE MOUNTAINS IN GERMANY, ALSO IN FRANCE. CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOU KEN KNIGHT!
Incredible painting❤ such a unique style
Awesome Video Ken. I am new to plein-air painting and this really helped me. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and passion!
Love the painting and appreciate the great advice!
Excellent work. ❤🎉
Very talented ;painter...thanks for the video.
Amazing work!
DYNAMIC painting...Brilliant...!!thanks for sharing with us..!!
Thats beautiful.
wow..... very wonderful sharing
Man, I'm so jealus of his art mobile. Like, who has an art mobile? Frickin dope.
My wife was painting rocks, because a lot of people hide them in the parks around, for others to find. As a landscape artist, I decided to paint some landscapes on some smooth flat rocks and like you said, I had no anxiety since these free "heavy" canvases were bountiful and I just felt free to quickly experiment. Now I have about 25 of these and some are quite nice. Only problem is, they weigh a ton. Haha. So my wife said, sell these. Get rid of them! They are drying on every shelf and counter and table. Oops. Some are quite large too. It would be nice to sell them by the pound.
Paint Rave! Love it.
Thank you so much for sharing this video Ken! Fantastic energy and integrity in your work.
This is incredible
Amazing, thank you!
Wow... !!! My best friend, Great... Awesome... Full watched. Thanks Have a happy day!
lovely painting 🖼
Sous titres indispensables pour suivre votre intéressant travail. Je vous remercie.
C'est très beau, je suis nulle en anglais mais on voit le talent.
Awesome video! Love your painting style.
I'm stunned by the critics! I like his music, style, painting, and heart to share his process. If you don't...then click away. Why bother posting something sarcastic and critical?
Muy buen trabajo 👏
Please post more videos Ken. I really like your style.
What an incredibly talented artist. Also, a brilliant location. In the UK, the light would probably have changed markedly for every minute of this video - or even quicker.
beautiful palette.
Gorgeous!
Awesome,Thanks for sharing!
His technique seemed a little chaotic, but dang he really makes it work for himself. That final piece was def crafted by a pro AND he did it so quickly!
it is an excellent idea..love it...thats a great way to do art...on wood nevet have seen it before...gracias.
Nice video Ken! I really enjoyed some of your technique
Love your “south coast Seascape”
Beautiful 😍❤️👍
Great art 👍
Always best
The painting looks better than the actual subject
Thank you Ken for being so generous to share this demo with us. It looks perfect already. I wonder what exactly you are going to do while fine tuning this work inside your studio. Thanks again.
PLEASE post more!!
Great demo
🎉🎉🎉🎉 excelent
I love this demonstration. What do you use to make your oils thinner? Do you coat the canvas with anything prior to painting
Pemandangan yg ada indah,,
Stuff me drunk people, give him a break, who really cares about the music. He is sharing his knowledge.....thanks Ken!
--- you bloody diggers are rough as pigs breakfast --- but that's just what I like ! -----
What music? I was too busy watching & listening to his advice!
Not sucky at all. I enjoyed this. Also I'm finding as a beginner I prefer doing smaller impressionist style paintings rather than large canvases. Not too much detail, but at the end of the day just having fun, happy accidents and all. Cheers mate.
Lovely
Hi Ken. I am fascinated with your paitings, your style and sophisticated colours you use. May you tell what brand of paints you use?
You did clean the papers on the grass that you throw their right?
Hi Ken like the work quick and fresh did you seal the wood with anything first thanks charles.
The smallest canvas or painting board so far. is that worth the time and the paint ?
that song thou! gives me artist spirit
I like to see all the films that you show my sister.. and I love you... greetings from me, I am from Indonesia, I am inspired a lot from some of the films that you have shown my sister... because I have many shortcomings, I hope that his guidance will help me I'm also my sister in the development of film content, I'm waiting for your sister's guidance
Love how you have paint all over yourself! 😂
friend you produce more videos, very good your work ok
I would like to have watched him and listened to his insight but I couldn't stand that horrendous 'music'.
I like the pull out from your vehicle ! You make it ? Thanks
Love your approach and the outcome! 😄 (minus the music)
good luck
Nice
The primer, clear sealer, u used... what do u recommend, water based, oil based??
Ya no publica sus videos!!!!!!
That's not ah knife bush. Now that's ah knife bush!
Nice painting, but I couldn't work on a wobbly easel, it would drive me nuts.
Roflamo.. Same here. I could not do it. It bothers me when i paint from my home made ladder easel and it moves like 1/16th of an inch. Lol
yes got the primeing at end of vidio
Most important to paint face first and everything else on yourself. it's 5''x8'' only.
It's ok to paint oil directly to wood?
Your brush looks like a hake shape. Is it made of rubber? Beautiful painting!
😊
Fun
Inspiring painter. I would have purchased the DVD set if it hadn’t been for the dreadful tinny background music.
I think he is wearing the same T-shirt which he used for cleaning brushes 😂😂🤣🤣
Beautiful landscapes, where is the place?
I think he said Murrumbidgee River
@@nick1f Australia mate
Custard and jelly on cedar ?
Hi Ken, Do you put a primer on the cedar or plywood when you paint? Like clear gesso?
Hi Terry, Yes I often use a clear sealer to prevent too much "suck" or paint absorption while painting. I mainly use this on marine ply, or if I paint on Masonite ( without gesso ).Painting onto a dark surface will definitely alter your colour and tonal values, as opposed to painting on the traditional white surface of canvas or gesso board. If I paint on solid cedar, I like to paint on this surface without any sealer/primer ...Ultimately its a personal thing.
Ken Knight,Thx Mate, Cedar is so expensive. I can get Cedar veneer and have it glued on mdf. Its abt $200 For acouple of mitres. Thanks for sharing Ken😊
Terry Dower it did not seems he did on this one , but I watched another artist prime the wood of course
Terry Dower a
I often use ply, not sure if it's marine (it's dark). I use pva glue to seal it then coat it with white gesso. I'm not brave enough yet to paint straight onto the unprimed board! Love how you use that paint scraper Ken!
Lucky you
is that board sealed ?...you're not painting on raw wood are you?
No to back ground music
As soon as he picked up the pallet knife I was like, "ooh! Bob Raussie!"
Haha that’s too clever 😂😂
why paint so small.? it's much easier?
👨🎨👍
Hope there are no salties around that river!
45 celsius??! 😳😳
Oh 😮 attention de ne pas laisser vos petits papiers parterre en partant !!!
Wow beautiful painting Ken!! I loved how simple you made it look! also great video have! I liked and subscribed! And you’re also more then welcome to check out some of my painting videos that are painted and filmed here in Australia! Would be much appreciated! Cheers!
Lovely work but why do they have to play that jerky music. It’s so off putting.
Ну и где ты там такое оранжевое увидел?! Ты не выдумывай цвет !
