I discovered you through WOTE a couple of years ago. I've also been listening to this song for a long time not realizing you were the one singing it. I read about Slab City in a book titled "I Feel Earthquakes More Often Than They Happen: Coming to California in the Age of Schwarzenegger" by Amy Willentz, after I moved to SoCal in 2013. I did a road trip from the coast out to the Salton Sea through the Anzo-Borrego Desert one day with my husband, but the day got away from us and we didn't get as far as Slab City before dark. My husband went there a few months ago on a motorcycle ride with a friend, I am jealous because he wouldn't even know it was there if it wasn't for me. One of these days I am going to get back out there and explore. Thank you for featuring such an interesting place, and community of people, in your video.
