"I know youre over whelmed" with a beautiful smile on your face had me lmbo. Thank you, thank you for this video!
Thank you for all of your videos. I AM overwhelmed and your videos are helping me so much.
THANK YOU! I’m just starting out and keep coming back to your videos because you show the reality I am so desperate to see! Thanks again!!
Thank you for sharing. Your videos are so very helpful. A lot of grateful mommas out here.
Great video, so nice to see examples of notebooking. Love the book rec
Yay!! I was so looking forward to this one 😍😍 Thank you! I felt so bad at the beginning of this school year when I just couldn’t figure out how to fit notebooking into our school days. I was a little lost and my daughter didn’t always feel like drawing... we’ll try again for 2nd grade 🤗
Thanks for this video! We are beginning notebooking with Charlotte Mason this year, but I wasn't totally sure how to do it. This gives me lots of great ideas!
Your videos are so helpful! I’m just starting out homeschooling my littles.
LOVE THIS! Super helpful! Thank you!
This is what I needed, thank you for sharing💕
yesss. I couldn't agree more with all of this. great video!
I love that you give your daughter the autonomy to use her nature journal as she chooses! Where did you get the small sized nature journal from? It's so beautiful!
Hello! I am watching from Argentina! Thanks for sharing all this information!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Beautiful notebooks! Thank you for sharing 💗.
You are so welcome!
this is very helpful!
Also for practicing writing words we use a personal portable whiteboard (slate). We a have a copywork notebook for Vocabulary which are usually sight words or common words not taught with phonics- just copy the words.
Thank you so much!!!
Nice drawings❤
So helpful!! Thank you! 🤗
I'm so glad, friend!
These videos are so very helpful. I am a very visual learner and really thrive on the break down. This will be my first year implementing CM (but, not my first year homeschooling)with the CMEC. How do you manage a lesson, transcribing the child’s narration and having your child draw their narration with a 20 minute block? My children dawdle a bit and I’m concerned about remaining on schedule with lessons. So, any tips are appreciated. Thanks again!
I’m new to the CMEC as well but from what I’ve heard, you would do what you can in that block of time and they can go back and draw/color as they want in their free time.
Yes!! 🥰 lovely work. We do notebooking too. Different system that works for us. My 6 yo loves to draw and do his copywork in the separate notebooks. I keep a book of centuries from form 1. What pen did you give her to use?
This video was so helpful! I am curious when your daughter does the notebooking? While you are reading a lesson, or do you set aside time afterword? I would love to include this in our homeschool day but always struggle fitting it in without taking too much time from other subjects.
How did you teach your daughter to draw?
Her drawings are beautiful! How did she learn?
I might have missed it, but do you have your daughter draw/paint before doing the oral narration that you write down ? Or the other way around ?
Me encantó que copias literal lo que el niño te cuenta! Los míos dibujan pero por alguna razón no quieren colorear. Posiblemente necesitamos más descripción del paisaje que vieron
How thick are the pages? If we wanted to water paint will it hold up? TIA
You mentioned if notebooking your Bible lesson doesn't fit into the 20-minute slot for Bible, notebooking the lesson is shifted to the next day. Does notebooking yesterday's lesson then fill the Bible slot for the next day, and the following Bible lesson waits for another day? Thank you for clarifying! I've never been able to "fit in" notebooking without sacrificing something else in our day, and perhaps not taking turns in this way is why.
Would you ever consider doing a Binder style narration journal and then keep a section of the binder per topic ?
Why or why not
Some children find larger pages intimidating and it can sometimes cause writer's block or make them feel they have to write more than they are ready for... And having the separate notebooks makes for easier transition outside/in the car/ at co-op, etc
I like that there writing on plain paper without lines. Seems I’ve put myself in a box making my kiddos have lined paper to narrate on. What about copy work? Could you do copywork on the plain paper and the same notebook at narrations?
Where can I find that particle notebook you are using for nature journaling. I like that size and that it’s not spiraled.
It's from Amazon! I have them linked in this blog post: charlottemasonmotherhood.com/2021/09/nature-study-supplies-on-the-go.html
How long does it take them to make the notebook, for example if you take 20 minutes in a lesson, how much more do you extend in order to record it and draw?
20 minutes includes the reading - and narration.
are all these suggestions from the CMEC?
Short lessons are a HUGE part of Charlotte Mason and I wonder how I could implement this without going over the short time slots that Charlotte recommends for these young ages. This would take us all day. This is great, but if you feel burned out, know that it's not absolutely necessary to keep up with daily like this. THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM! I promise! We will probably implement this more fully when they're a bit older.
Hi Alexa! Thank you for your comment. I actually don't think I was clear enough on this topic, so allow me to clarify :) We don't notebook every single lesson every day. We generally try to notebook once a week for each subject. So that would be one notebook entry for geography (even though we technically have 2-3 geography lessons) or one entry for natural history (even though we have 4 natural history lessons each week!) Also, sometimes I will reserve a whole 20 minute lesson block for notebooking. Composer study or Picture Study is a great example of this. The first week I will share the composer's song or the artist's work and then the next week we will revisit that same piece and ntoebook for it! I hope that makes sense :)
@@CharlotteMasonMotherhood thank you for the breakdown! Very helpful indeed.
After reading your reply to Alexa I went from feeling so overwhelmed to, 'oh, that's what we do, ok, I'm good' 🤣
Also, might be helpful to perhaps make a video on how you schedule your note booking times to clarify for you audience who might not read these comments. 😉
