Double check and triple check grounds!!!!! Need a ground from the battery to the frame and from the engine to the frame or bar. Good luck on the cam break! Always was a stressful time for me 😅
It takes a lot for somebody to put a video up of something that doesn’t go like you planned…props to you guys for actually releasing the video showing the engine not running. Keep it up you will get it
You can always check for oil pressure when you are priming the oil pump. Dump a little gas down the carburetor and she will fire up. Don't get discouraged it's a learning thing'' Good luck.
Timing off a tooth or advanced? Anyway, it's too hard to diagnose without being there.. hot battery with a high CCA would help. Good luck and ill bet she will run on the next vid.
I’m gonna give a few pieces of go fast info and parts that will greatly increase performance on this factory / hobby stock Daytona 1 5/40 or 15/40 oil huge power gains plus the oil gain be ran to over 300* Also their 30/60 rear gear oil that also can be reused. Schoenfield or Profab 3x3 anti reversion mufflers huge torque gain 25+ Also a keyser 2blade composite fan blade or if your class won’t cray about jones race fan where u can add blades if need be. But the 2 blade fan is a power saver on these little motors !! Don’t say I didn’t tell ya so 🤷🏼♂️
Nothing is easier to start than a small block Chevy. Make sure you're on top dead center what number one plug distributor pointed at number one power to the distributor fuel in the carburetor it's a small block Chevy it'll start an idle no fuss good luck
No!! That’s not what I was expecting in this video man..that’s a heart breaker for sure!!! Hopefully y’all get that thing fixed and with all the rain y’all getting maybe make it for the race in that thing lol even if you ain’t got a front end on it 😂
I hope you can figure out what's wrong with that motor and get it a cranking and everything I've been here for all of this building and I can't wait to see the finish and I know you will figure it out because you are awesome and I can't wait to see the next video of racing or whatever it is and everything good luck good luck to you all in 2024 and I can't wait to see if I can meet you in person in 2024 when y'all come to bakery motor speedway in Beckley West Virginia this year to race
Some advice when you get it running run at 2000 rpms for 20 25 min . And put Lucas Oil zinc small bottle. I hope there is zinc the break in Oil to.. iv seen so many cam go bad bc in the break in . Bc of people don't do the right process of breaking in a motor. Can't wait to here it scream. Good luck
Man I wish I was close to help you guys. I’m older but know these things inside and out and raced this type car since 1993. The mini stock I have know clue about lol
Yes timing to far advance an put a battery charger on it if that’s a flat tappet cam you need to get it running rea quickly bring it to 2 grand for about 30 minutes to break it in
SBC shit is the most easiest of engines to work on and or figure out Get 1 at TDC and die it up. Time it about 36* once u have it up and running Ar-94 plugs will be fine for ya to run on 93 no need to waste $$ on “racegas” esp if under 10:1 We actually use airplane 101 octane and have great success in a 602 crate 🤫.
One step at a time. She will be running soon. I have faith in you.
Thank you sir. I believe so
Beeline algorithm brought me here! 🚲💨
Welcome to the channel. We were excited to have him stop at the house
Double check and triple check grounds!!!!! Need a ground from the battery to the frame and from the engine to the frame or bar. Good luck on the cam break! Always was a stressful time for me 😅
Yes sir. Grounds are there. Had other issues that will be addressed soon. I’ll keep y’all updated
It takes a lot for somebody to put a video up of something that doesn’t go like you planned…props to you guys for actually releasing the video showing the engine not running. Keep it up you will get it
I appreciate that. Sucks that we have to show it but wanted to keep it real with y’all
You can always check for oil pressure when you are priming the oil pump. Dump a little gas down the carburetor and she will fire up. Don't get discouraged it's a learning thing'' Good luck.
Yes sir. That’s what we did before I put the distributor in but my drill wasn’t spinning it fast enough for good pressure
Keep at it stay with it and youll be hunting the front!
I sure hope so. Trying to get this thing done where I can race with them more
Oh so close, yet so far away! Hate is for ya brother..
All good brother. Learning a lot
thanks again Skyler!!! maybe it needs blinker fluid?? haha anyway, cheers brother!
Man that’s exactly what it was 🤣🤣 need to jump on a bike I guess lol
love that fine engine life
It’s been a journey
Timing off a tooth or advanced? Anyway, it's too hard to diagnose without being there.. hot battery with a high CCA would help. Good luck and ill bet she will run on the next vid.
I believe it was advanced just a bit too much but we never had a good chance to figure that out. And yes sir I need a good battery
I’m gonna give a few pieces of go fast info and parts that will greatly increase performance on this factory / hobby stock

Just took a screen shot of this so I can remember it
Could be lifter adjustment not correct or HEI was put in 180 out
Yes sir. Will explain more once we find out exactly what happened HEI was correct

That’s what I’ve been told. But I made a mistake preventing that from happening
So, when will we see this on the track ???
Video coming out soon of the engine repair. Hoping to put the final touches on it this week
I have a motor lift you can have but I’m in Tn you will have to come get it. And a engine stand.
That’s a long way out but thank you for the offer
No!! That’s not what I was expecting in this video man..that’s a heart breaker for sure!!! Hopefully y’all get that thing fixed and with all the rain y’all getting maybe make it for the race in that thing lol even if you ain’t got a front end on it 😂
I know man very hard pill to swallow but I’m getting it fixed asap

Thanks Josh. Gonna try my best

Yes sir. Added a high zinc break in oil to the engine. I’m excited to try again. Hoping to be quick getting it fixed
Man I wish I was close to help you guys. I’m older but know these things inside and out and raced this type car since 1993. The mini stock I have know clue about lol
All good man. Everything y’all comment we read and learn from yalls advice
Sounds like the timming is to advanced that's why it's turning over slow . Back off the timming . Will stop that back firing and run great.
Thanks man. It did end up being something else as well. Next video I’ll explain a little more
My bet would be bad ground wire making it turn over slow
Get u a high torque starter. We run the dizzys locked out get u a high torque u be fine
Get a battery charger on that car when your starting it
@@baims8367 we had one on it
Yes timing to far advance an put a battery charger on it if that’s a flat tappet cam you need to get it running rea quickly bring it to 2 grand for about 30 minutes to break it in
10/4. I need to get a good battery. This one is weak
Getting close pretty sure it's something simple I know you will figure it out at least it is cranking. Clay from mobile Alabama
Yes sir. Gonna get it worked out and running soon
SBC shit is the most easiest of engines to work on and or figure out Get 1 at TDC and die it up. Time it about 36* once u have it up and running

That’s awesome. I’m learning a lot about this stuff for sure
So are you going to be able to race the pure stock or are you going back to mini stocks again
Should have the heads back this week and try again with the pure stock
From the sounds of it turning over the timing needs to be adjusted shouldn't be turning over so hard
Yes sir. We never got it to crank enough to adjust it or check
I’ll sell ya a super sucker carb adapter $50
I actually just picked up one or
Something like it
Get those junk stock upper control arms off this car run you 8 months the r and 9.5 on the left with no shims on the L for most + camber and caster
I believe we have to run stock upper and Lowers. I’ll look into that
Turning too slow
Battery was dead
