"For millennia, humans have gazed into the night sky. We identified "wandering stars," spheres that didn't move in sync with the rest. These spheres became the inspiration for myths and gods, literature, art, and music. Seven of these are also part of the story of Destiny.
For untold ages the Traveler sent signals from deep in the galaxy to our solar system, signals interpreted and identified by the subconscious mind of humanity as music. Music that tells a story about worlds that have yet to be experienced, places that don't yet exist. The message of the Traveler, along with the inner harmony amongst the seven spheres themselves, has inspired what you are about to hear.
Author C.S. Lewis wrote, "Music which is too familiar to be heard enfolds us day and night and in all ages." We, the composers, are excited to present this realization of Music of the Spheres."

It seems important, even critical, to tell every star from here to the black between the galaxies that you will be strong again.
This to me, is Destiny's version of Halo 3's "Never Forget" 💙

One of the best pieces of Music from a video game in my opinion
I get nostalgic listening to this. I haven't associated this song with anything in particular, but it just brings me back for some reason
A portion was played during the first cutscene where you meet the speaker, also when you got stormcaller on a warlock. The boy choir soloist was played after you defeated Ghaul and the traveler woke up in the very last red war cutscene.

This makes me always cry. I always sit back and evaluate my life and just get upset because the more I listen to it the more I realize life is being wasted and there’s too little time in life.
Life shouldn’t be measured by time, but by how that time was spent in life. I always look back and realize how much I miss how things were, but also realize what I could have by it going forward. The only shame is it’s hard to live freely these days, to actually enjoy your moments with how we are made to live. Still, doesn’t mean we can’t try. Honestly, I’m still figuring it out myself…
Then stop wasting time.
@@unseentreeclimber8644 update: year has passed and I no longer feel like I have wasted anything. I have grown, and am at peace. Still figuring out how I will support myself, but that's part of the process and the fun of the challenge. :)
I have a different reaction to listening to this, to me it reminds me that if I use all of my remaining will and energy I can make my life worth the mistakes I have made by completing my mission. Despite that I can still empathize with feeling sorrow for all the lost time because I still feel it despite knowing it wasn't for nothing.

This part hits so much harder when you saw the Red War ending cutscene… though it doesn’t feel complete without the Pyramid Fleet motif at the end

This feels incomplete without the Pyramid Ship leitmotif at the end.
You might hear it on Venus orbit, this music was originally used in D1 and then reused in Red War pyramid ending cutscene in D2
when that part is coming, i imagine the leitmotif but then the music continue ahahahah

For some reason whenever I’m having an awful day, this song has always been extremely cathartic for me. I hope Marty knows how his song is impacting people. It’s much needed
This soundtrack always had the same amount of character that made Dark Souls music so incredible. A testament to what separates fantastically talented composers from good ones.
Coming back to this, it rings true 100% when you compare the soundtrack in D2, it's good but it never hits this level of impact to the listener/player.

From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold
Genuinely shocked when this played during the New Encore exotic mission. It had been so long since Bungie used a Music of the Spheres track😭🙏🏽

This is so stuck in my head that I HAVE to listen to it. It's so bloody good.
This made me start composing. I really want to work with this composer. Mr O donnel it would be a dream and an honor.
he was ONE out of the many composers. idilising him is the worst thing you can do for a project like this.

If you idealize him to a certain extent, it will help you as an example of admiration and influence, obviously if you fanaticize him it will be something negative since you will miss many more things. But it all depends on the measure.
@@dochedgehog By no means should you take this as me defending Marty as a person, however Music of the Spheres was mostly Martys work. Mike, Paul, and a few others helped with some of it, however most of what you're hearing especially in this piece IS Martys work. Now if we're talking about the actual OST that released with the game then we get into the other composers main workings.
@@MovableFormula Agreed! You can definitely hear Marty's iconic style through each layer as it builds. Reminds me of how Halo's soundtracks progressed.

@@Mr.Skits94 I remember to this day, I was 8 (My parents didn't care too much, lol.) at the time but damn I made some good friends, I'm 13 now, starting GCSE's, but I still remember one guy in particular, Bison XTR (Username), He was a Clutch legend and a super chill guy. Sometimes, I can't listen to the D1 Soundtrack cuz it makes me kinda sad... And I even remember my first Legendary item, a FWC Machine gun, I got it during a Strike, the Vex one with that huge Minotaur I think, this is D1 I'm talking about, I just can't pin point it.
I'm joyous to hear the D1 Servers, despite being said to be shut down after a few weeks of the D2 Release. I guess D1 was so good after it was all finally put together.

After playing Encore, i guess this is the confirmed theme of the collapse (other than when it was used for the D2 vanilla post credits scene).

I have a sort of story with my awoken titan, and I think of this music playing as a conversation between him during the golden age (when he was human) and his fiancé (who ends up becoming a guardian and one of his fire team mates and lover post-resurrection) about boarding the ship that created the awoken, almost like a foreshadowing of the events that transpire
Awoken guardians are always interesting. Not once, but twice, they had to undergo this complete severing and recreation of the self through two entirely different paracausal processes
I believe this played in the D2 cutscene that revealed The Almighty and when the Traveler woke.

yet he was one out of the MANY who worked on THIS, and didnt even have a hand in any of destinys laucnh post luanch of today
