Arkansas Children’s Heart Institute is the state's only comprehensive pediatric cardiac care program and ranks among seven Arkansas Children’s specialties in U.S. News & World Report, 2022-2023. It provides world-class care in pediatric cardiology through diagnosing and treating a comprehensive list of acquired and congenital heart diseases and conditions in infants, children, adolescents and adults. Arkansas Children’s pediatric cardiology experts care for patients through the Fetal Heart Center, Children’s Cardiology Clinic, Pediatric Congenital Cardiovascular (CV) Surgery and the Adult Congenital Heart program. Arkansas Children’s Heart Institute has eight pediatric cardiac intensivists in-house. The institute boasts life-changing statistics on pediatric cardiology care, including:
Higher four-year survival rate than our peers nationwide
Performed 375 transplants since program inception in 1990
Only adult congenital program in the state following approximately 1,100 adult patients
More than 20,000 cardiac testing and imaging performed annually
1,000-1,300 echocardiograms read monthly across the Arkansas Children’s system
Children throughout the state, region and world are cared for in pediatric cardiology programs at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale and Arkansas Children’s Hospital Jonesboro Clinic.
