You can print the same pages from the bible app YouVersion, but if you'd like to support my work, consider buying it from: joshuabalata.g...
Thanks for tuning in- see you in the next one! :D
Eager to see how you did that, as many of my colleagues in my Bank desire to learn a new language
Thanks dad
"I have been following several Instagram poetry pages where Urdu poetry is presented alongside its phonetic representation in English, allowing me to enhance my ability to read Urdu. While I had some prior familiarity with Arabic script, I encountered challenges due to Urdu's unique characters during my childhood. However, after engaging with these pages and exploring resources, including your video and website, I've realized my newfound fluency in reading Urdu. It appears that I unintentionally applied techniques reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian method you mentioned." [ I've been following you since when I first saw you in Easy french. Great to see the languages we are interested in align a lot ]
First I followed your journey in French, and I am now a B2. Now you are learning Urdu, my native tougue! Excited to see this
So glad to hear :)
I’m super proud of this journey - tell me what you think when it’s out
Josh, all your contents are top notch, man! Very recently, I came across your videos, randomly and turns out it were all mostly inspiring. Keep going and hope that you soon find your place for all the great quality stuff that's being delivered. Cheers.
Man! Thanks for your kind words! I'm so happy to hear this. The right reward for all the work I've been putting into the channel
The storytelling of how you were introduced to Urdu was amazing! I definitely agree with you when you say that even if you don't know the words, the poetry still sounds beautiful!
Thank you Armaan! I had to really think about where I learned the first few words of Urdu.
I love the poetry by Qamar Ejaz! how about you?
@@JoshuaBalata I love the nazms of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and also Javed Akhtar because of the way they use metaphors from nature to describe the human condition!
I enjoy following your language journey. I'm still preparing for French. Urdu is my mother tongue but I still enjoy learning it. After these languages, I'm hoping to opt for مصری dialect Arabic. I've forgotten everything I learned a decade ago lol. As a PhD student I struggle to find time for my language learning hobby but your videos give me hope!
Oh nice! I have an Egyptian friend who told me this word before مصری
Do you read / write in the Nastaliq?
Doing all this with your PhD could be a time juggle, I totally get you
MASHALLAH
For many years I had the idea to learn french. (I am German.) In 2020 I eventually got my lazy rear end moved and started to actually learn french. I found your channel through EasyFrench... So I can relate to that 15 year part. I got the idea to learn other languages. Specific one with a non latin script. Soon I discovered Hindi / Urdu which is perfect. You get two very different, non latin scripts for the expense of learning one language. For the past weeks I am clicking may way through the Devanagari course on Duolingo. There are better options out there, I am sure. And I could spend more time on Devanagari. But my priority is still French. I just wane build some Devanagari skills to prepare for the day I get stated with Hindi. So no 28 days to learn a new script for me.
And I have wired, perverted fantasies about writing German in Devanagari... 🙂
Man! sounds like we have a LOT in common! I learn stuff with no end goal either- just because I want to do it.
German has been a long time impossibility (or low effort) for me too. Happy to share this journey with you and hear of yours!
Salam from Quebec ❤
Imran khan kal bankang me paes honge 😝
Amazing video Josh bhai 😃😃
Haha Thanks Arif!
Thanks, amazing video
This is awesome
Wow....
I think Indians have an advantage learning Urdu or even Arabic because both share the phonetic nature. I am looking forward to the series and this might as well be like Bob Ross series, but Joshua's "joy of learning language"
Man That's exactly what I was shooting for! thanks for your faith!
Yea we do have an advantage because our languages have organised sounds so. well in the alphabet list. I should mention that org. in my next video involving Hindi/Kannada.
HI JOSH.
GREETINGS FROM MEXICO 🇲🇽.
i love this video, it is so inspiring
Josh, there was a time you thought about abandoning your UA-cam journey, wasn't it?! Now, look at the comments! You're rocking man. Wishing you good luck always in all that you do. We'll soon see in this space ,you sharing with us your journey learning the தமிழ் script.
Hahaha thank you so much Viji! I'm so impatient about the Tamil thing! It's my mother tongue and I really want to learn to read and write it. In time :)
Great video! I find this so interesting because I learned the Arabic script as a child and I understand Hindi but cannot read it. It looks I can put the two together and work on learning Urdu!
Oh yes, you'll be super fast given your background! If you happen to use my method, I'd love to hear about your journey
