To those of you who have purchased Rayleigh and are in the process of learning- there is a misprint in the 1st measure in the run and chord. It should be played as is in the video. Please follow this link to download the corrected measures. Thanks! static1.squarespace.com/static/5a3b0767d7bdce86aaf61b96/t/665b6770bb10607a28ecb6f4/1717266288824/Rayleigh+-++++%281%29.pdf
This actually reminds me of a specific classical piece that I've heard before. I wish I could remember the name of it. This sounds absolutely amazing and beautiful and every second I spend listening to this the more I love it!
If only as mutch people new about this as insomnia
The 7/8 part was super pretty

Good luck!
@@HolmesPercussion thank you!
update: i got in!!!
@@garygordon4277 Congratulations! Thanks for adding the update so readers of these comments wouldn't be left wondering! IYou must be an amazing marimba player to play this piece. I hope you are enjoying your new musical experiences. . :)
So beautiful and comforting! Amazing volume control. How long do u play?
Alot of this sounds familiar like different parts are from different solos or just other songs....is that where u get the inspiration from or is it just a coincidence
All in all its still very beautiful and will definitely be getting it😁👍
John Galvan thank you for your comment! Just like any other writer I am influenced by other music I’ve performed or heard. I wanted this piece to be very Performable and easy to listen to, and that will often lead to music sounding familiar to other things
@@HolmesPercussion i love it and i really love your duet insomnia!! Lol it's kind of ironic how i fall asleep to it😂😂
John Galvan lol

First beginning melody kinda reminds me of Ameline lol
Hello! I’m trying to learn this piece, and from the sheets provided the beginning the misprint is leaving me confused. Is the second 5-let not a part of the run? Also in the second measure, the second run is played very differently from what is on the sheets. Can you please elaborate on that second run? I am having trouble understanding the inconsistency.
Hello! Yes, there is a pretty big misprint in the first 2 measures. Follow this link for the corrected first page! static1.squarespace.com/static/5a3b0767d7bdce86aaf61b96/t/665b6770bb10607a28ecb6f4/1717266288824/Rayleigh+-++++%281%29.pdf
@@HolmesPercussionthank you so much!
Why is the opening run different in your video than what's on the music???
he had stated a typo in the first measure. check his comment, its pinned so it should be the first comment you see
are those Mark Fords?
also how did you get your one hand rolls so piss clean?
I'm going to be honest. This sounds amazing as it is, however as a musician, I feel like it's important to put say a recording/video of a piece of music and make it as perfect as you can. In short, I feel like a better recording, in which you don't miss any notes, is more preferable. I understand that pieces of music are hard or near impossible, but as a musician, perfect is better than great. I still love your wroks though, so keep it up❤️
Marlon Castro while I appreciate your honesty, I’d like you to note that producing the best recording I can is my top priority. I self produce my videos- meaning I do everything you see by myself (audio and video). I also have limited time and opportunities to play on the marimba that I record with (a total of 4 hours-practice included). If you ever have the opportunity to record and I hope you do, I think you will come to respect the processes and the final products of the videos you view. Thank you for your kind words
