Today I just bought me a Grillpro vertical smoker for $50 bucks and its practically brand new only used a couple of times I couldn't pass that deal up. I got whole butt load of chips to go with it ta boot. I used to have a round vertical charbroil smoker so I'm familiar with using charcoal. My brinkman gas grill has a side burner I'm sure will suffice, but I also have a couple of high btu Tejas jet burners. I should have no problem getting coal ignited. Thanks for the tip pal. I don't know why I didn't think of that.
Seems like a nice tip. Thanks!

Thx for the tip. I just got this grill and wasn’t sure if I needed newspaper with the side burner.
Glad I could help!!
