This is done so convincingly and totally in character. A very talented and outstanding cast!! I love how Werner Klemperer says, " Jello, the light desert with fresh fruit taste," as only he could say it.
Yes. Thank goodness those two idiots that made the Sonic America's Drive In commercials for so many years are finally gone. Ugh...I HATED those guys! Their commercials annoyed me more than Flo and that dumb talking box!
For such an Ancient Ad, This is really good. I'm honestly surprised the cast stayed so much in character advertising it and doing it magnificently. It Definitely makes me hungry for Jello every time I see this Ad. Lol 😅
I also can never get enough of Sgt.Schultz always saying I see nothing. As well as the crazy antics of Cols.Hogan and Klink's funny actions.R.I.P the cast of the show.Only Kennth Washington and Robert Clary surviving. When their time on earth is up,Let's hope the good lord is a fan of Hogan's Heroes.
General Foods co-sponsored "HOGAN'S HEROES" during its first two seasons (1965-'67) with Philip Morris. In the fall of '67, they moved to Saturdays [with Philip Morris continuing as primary sponsor], and General Foods moved "GOMER PYLE U.S.M.C." into that Friday night time period.
This was from a promotional film for General Foods, and the various series it sponsored on CBS during the 1966-'67 season, at the time Carol Channing starred in a sitcom pilot, produced by Desi Arnaz, that was under consideration for GF sponsorship on the network, but they decided not to buy it. "HOGAN'S HEROES" was co-sponsored by General Foods during its first two seasons, and they appeared in "integrated commercials" for Jell-O, Dream Whip, etc. at the end of the episodes sponsored by GF...
carol channing was staying at a hotel i worked at back in the 80's. one of my duties was cleaning the large restroom on the check-in floor. she came in there while is was cleaning the counters and said hello, she was very nice. she was actually in the stall for quite some time, but i was still cleaning. i heard a small gasp and a very recognizable voice over the stall door said "now, when did i have corn?"
No. Back in those days, they integrated the commercials into the shows by having the actors/character hawk their respective show's sponsor(s) as part of the shows (hence why the commercials also have laugh tracks). General Foods sponsored a lot of CBS shows at that time; Carol Channing also popped up in some intergrated commercials on GREEN ACRES.
I don't know about cigarette commercials, but they did do a few air force recruitment commercials. A couple of them were actually pretty serious. They reveal the more down-to-earth (no oxymoronic pun intended) side of Bob Crane.
You know, we could do a remake of this commercial. We still have LeBeau and Newkirk. And we can get Colin Mochrie to play Klink, and Ryan Stiles to play Carol Channing.
Agree... However, if you're looking for "surreal" television commercials, then Joe Sedelmaier is your man. He made, hands down, the best commercials ever seen on TV. Here's a block of five. The Russian fashion show put me on the floor the first time I saw it. "Svimwear!" vimeo.com/113150341
There's always room for fresh Jell-O. When it's wet, jiggly, and glistening. Jell-O that sits out all day at room temperature like at a buffet tends to get dull, it dries out, and it actually is filling because it collects dirt in the air. Nasty stuff is what it is.
@@JosephScarbrough IKR?! I went to a Chinese buffet too, was a little full but figured I had room for a few squares of their orange Jell-O. I go over there, it wasn't festering or anything, but it was dull and lost its shine. After a few bites, I was full! I couldn't eat anymore.
The Hogan's Heroes was funny in this JELL-O commercial. They should've also had Frauden Helga in this TV ad saying JELL-O,the dessert with the fruity taste.
Everytime there is a family get together, I always bring something jello-ish, and on our emails back and forth on who's bringing what, I always say, jello because there's always room for jello, and as I bring it in, I announce it. Just my little joke. Funny thing, everyone seems to like what ever dessert made from jello I make, too.
Jell-O with Cool Whip is the reason why no one escaped Stalag 13....The Jell-O is too tasty!!!! And without Jell-O, life would be NOTHEENG, MEESTER HOGAN!!!
Hogan's Heroes was aired from 1965--1971 on CBS--it was cancellled as part of the "rural purge" of cancellations so that a younger demographic could be targeted (many shows were also cancelled-Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, Green Acres etc)----never understood why NBC or ABC couldn't have picked up the show and continued making it---this was not without precident-at the same time Get Smart was cancelled by NBC and picked up by ABC
@@rkdvideo Taxi also started on one network (ABC from 1978-82) and then NBC picked it up for another year. So for a show to move to another network was not without precedent. It's too bad Hogan's Heroes couldn't have moved from CBS to either ABC/NBC and been allowed to have a final episode
His point was, it was too comedic to reveal the sarcasm. Red Skelton made issues funny because he put depth into them. You see the dryness of. Because this show was ratings induced, they had to go to the slap-stick format to get that quick laugh.
Makes sense...since both have minds consisting OF jello. *LOL* A former supervisor of mine also was involved with the ACLU. Funny thing about her: defending the rights of anyone...whom she agreed with and hated capitalism. Sounds like a Marxist. Actually I'm a Marxist myself....Groucho, Chico, Harpo & Zeppo.
Klink and especially Schultz are still hilarious 40-something years later. RIP.
This is done so convincingly and totally in character. A very talented and outstanding cast!! I love how Werner Klemperer says, " Jello, the light desert with fresh fruit taste," as only he could say it.
One of the most talented casts of the 60s-70s
It amazes me how they all came together to make that show-very special!
There's always room for Jell-o, even at Luftstalag 13.
Back in the golden age of TV when commercials didn't insult your intelligence. And there were a lot less of 'em too.
what? did we just watch the same thing?
I miss the good old days
You think this doesn't insult your intelligence?! lol
Yes. Thank goodness those two idiots that made the Sonic America's Drive In commercials for so many years are finally gone. Ugh...I HATED those guys! Their commercials annoyed me more than Flo and that dumb talking box!
a Frenchman would never ever serve Dream Whip.
For such an Ancient Ad, This is really good. I'm honestly surprised the cast stayed so much in character advertising it and doing it magnificently.
It Definitely makes me hungry for Jello every time I see this Ad. Lol 😅
Some of this was so totally an ad, but Schultz couldn't have been more in character. This was great.
One of the greatest ensemble comedy casts of all time..I love this show so much I did an impressions video of it.
It is a good television series commercial from the 1960s decade, and we have it on disc.
I have every episode on DVD, but I've always known there was a lost episode out there somewhere... This is it!
I love Hogan's Hero's... Thank you for adding this. It is a classic! David
Even the German Wehrmacht loved Jell-O with Dream Whip on top!
Those days when even the ads were enjoyable and worth a view 😊
I also can never get enough of Sgt.Schultz always saying I see nothing. As well as the crazy antics of Cols.Hogan and Klink's funny actions.R.I.P the cast of the show.Only Kennth Washington and Robert Clary surviving. When their time on earth is up,Let's hope the good lord is a fan of Hogan's Heroes.
I know nothing. Nothing! 🤣
Man I love those pre-CGI package designs. Wish they'd bring those back...
ONE OF THE FUNNIEST SHOWS EVER MADE IS HOGANS HEROES...........
And 1of the best
Wow! I can't believe what I just saw! I couldn't stop laughing!
This is priceless😎

Later Phillip Morris merged General Foods and became Kraft Foods.
Schultz can sell the product solo!
That's for sure. He actually sounded sincere. Personally, I never liked that stuff, but he sure made it sound delicious. lol

Poop corn. One of the mysteries of the universe
there's always room for jello
This clip itself is a delightful treat, mit (or mitout) dat ersatz schlag. And Carol Channing was always such a sweet spirit.
Five stars.
Loved this Show and All the Cast and Crew. RIP to them all.
Great cast and show
This was sooooooo cheese, priceless.
That's more like it, a Jell-O Commercial featuring the Characters from Hogan's Heroes and Carol Channing.
All these years I've never seen this. Thanks.
haa haa wow that's crazy! now everytime i eat Jello here... especially in Utah of course i'll think of how amazing it is, and feel cozy at Stalag 13
I can't tell whether this ad is separate from the show. Like, did it play during breaks in other programs?
No. Back in those days, they integrated the commercials into the shows by having the actors/character hawk their respective show's sponsor(s) as part of the shows (hence why the commercials also have laugh tracks). General Foods sponsored a lot of CBS shows at that time; Carol Channing also popped up in some intergrated commercials on GREEN ACRES.
i so wish commercias were like this so much today
Holy wow. I've never seen this before.
I never knew hogans hero’s ever did ads which is awesome
Wow, never seen this before. Thank you for uploading it.
I never saw a Hogan Hero commercial cool 😎 history😄👍🏿
damn this is hokey. but classic
This is awesome!!!
I wonder what it would cost to bankroll the entire cast of a show to appear in a single commercial today
Hahaha, this is great!! :D Jello probably could have ended the war, and dream whip can bring world peace any day.
"yep, there's always room for jellllooooooo" joey tribbiani style
not once have I seen these guys endorce anything; first commercial I ever rlly enjoyed...
I think Carol Channing and that helmet were, too!
That was surreal.
R.I.P to the cast
You done great guys … love strawberry jello
Now this is how you do a commercial.
LOL, love it, and I hate commercials.
Good one!
This is great, thanks! :D
i know nothing i know nothing!
That is in the Big Box of Hogan's Heroes Season 1-4 on DVD
i wish commercials were like this nowadays.
Thank God they cut these integrated, obnoxious commercials from the
DVD release! 👍
Yes!! :D
Suddenly I want Jello with Dream Whip on top...
I don't know about cigarette commercials, but they did do a few air force recruitment commercials. A couple of them were actually pretty serious. They reveal the more down-to-earth (no oxymoronic pun intended) side of Bob Crane.
I forgot I posted this! Thanks for the reply!! Now, would you care for a little Jell-O with some Dream Whip? :-)
Yuck. Schultz can have mine.
XD I love this! It's so cheesy!
Watch out for Col. Hogan's dream whip and video equipment Carol.
They had an agenda then also advertising Hogan's heroes, Carol Channings, Jello and Dream whip.
This reminds me of when the Argentine beer brand Crystal integrated their ads into Star Wars
Perhaps. It's been forever since I've drawn Hogan's Heroes fanart. I'm currently obsessed with Doctor Who.
You know, we could do a remake of this commercial. We still have LeBeau and Newkirk. And we can get Colin Mochrie to play Klink, and Ryan Stiles to play Carol Channing.
It's weird seeing Schultz without his overcoat.
Surrealism at it's finest.
Agree...

Leon Allan Davis: I remember that. :)
There's always room for fresh Jell-O. When it's wet, jiggly, and glistening.
Jell-O that sits out all day at room temperature like at a buffet tends to get dull, it dries out, and it actually is filling because it collects dirt in the air. Nasty stuff is what it is.
why would you eat it that way?
Exactly!
I was at a Chinese buffet one time years ago . . . the Jell-O had sit out so long that it was covered in gnats! Eww!
I-I can't believe what I just witnessed.
A Nazi commandant extolling tne virtues of Jell-O.
My universe has just been turned upside-down today.
Pete Concho correction, Klink wasn't a Nazi.
Go watch Seinfeld
Fair enough. But a German Colonel in the Nazi-controlled Armed Forces.
The mystery was what Carol Channing was doing there in the first place.
AHHH DA Best!
The Hogan's Heroes was funny in this JELL-O commercial. They should've also had Frauden Helga in this TV ad saying JELL-O,the dessert with the fruity taste.
Hahah, this is amazing.
I swear, they just don't make shows this great anymore.
Cool

Every local prison camp needs shelf stable foods with fake fruit flavoring. lol
Jell-O with Cool Whip is the reason why no one escaped Stalag 13....The Jell-O is too tasty!!!! And without Jell-O, life would be NOTHEENG, MEESTER HOGAN!!!
Klemperer also stated that he would only play Klink so long as he never won, and was made the fool.
Don't forget the late Howard Caine, who played Major Hofstedttler. He was Jewish too, but from Nashville.
Carol Channing went to Stalag 13 after knocking out Mike Tyson.
Wonder how the POW'S, in Hanoi thought about this?
I wish they could have included General Burkhalter and Major Hochstetter. But it wouldn't work for their characters.

Don't worry, Schultz won't tell. He knows nothiiing! ;D
what a swell commercial!funny!
Look, Carol Channing dropped by the Stalag.
I don't remember ads being 2 minutes long. Did they break this into more than one ad ?
Yay bone scrapings
🌚Very funny commercial.😆
His point was, it was too comedic to reveal the sarcasm. Red Skelton made issues funny because he put depth into them. You see the dryness of. Because this show was ratings induced, they had to go to the slap-stick format to get that quick laugh.
Little known fact, Carol Channing spent the rest of World War II hidden in that clothesline.
Nothing makes me want to buy Jell-O more than thinking about prisoners of war and totalitarian regimes.
Was that helmet used for stabbing people. Colonel Klink should have used the word verboten, German for forbidden/prohibited.
WHAT IS THIS COMMERICAL DOING HERE !
Dream Whip is nasssssty
Actually, I hate to break it to you, but we are just two among a great herd of eclectic American nerds. Still, your comment made me laugh.
no they didn't
consuming not-german products were compared to betrayal
Makes sense...since both have minds consisting OF jello. *LOL* A former supervisor of mine also was involved with the ACLU. Hogan eat Jell-O fruit Jello
