  • LSU dominated the game from start to finish. STATE has to find some confidence in something offensively, quick.

    As a lifelong LSU fan, I truly appreciated this in-depth and unbiased analysis. Do not believe we are as good as we looked on Saturday and do not believe Mississippi State was as bad as they looked. SEC play is tough. Glad we got out of Starkville with the win. Disappointed that we will not be playing each other next year. Love this series.

    Matt Wyatt, will you let Neil know he reminds me a lot of Jack!! Especially with the yardages, numbers etc.. I mean that as a compliment! I grew up with so much Jack Cristil blaring in our house, it seemed every night n weekend of my life…. And those habits have been passed on, my tv stays muted during games! You two do a tremendous job for us! Thank you very much! Please don’t change who you are, Matt Wyatt!!
    Player of the game, Tulu, great pick!
    Thank you! And thx for beating AU over there on the Plains! Made my day! It got me a call from my favorite aunt afterwards to share her excitement. I’ll never forget that!
    God bless!

    That's a great way to talk about Will. He's been bad, but it ain't nearly just him and i am certainly not sure that throwing the backup in there is gonna fix much. Especially if he turns the ball over trying to run around. Will at least doesn't throw picks.

      That’s right, we could have Dak back there, but if the 10 around him don’t do their job it’s kinda tough for him to do his… We need to figure out what all 11 on the offense can execute, and stick with those plays, if there are any….and build from there. Our offensive looked like they were running 5 different plays at times. That’s not good for anyone and Will isn’t turning it over.

    I don’t think Will Rogers is a bad QB. The fact the coach changed the entire offense certainly doesn’t help.

      He ain’t a bad QB but his skill set doesn’t fit this offense..If he were faster and had better agility he would be doing great.

    I just believe you have to build the offense around the skill-set of the players you have on the team. You can't transition away from the spread while your roster is still full of spread players. As you bring your own guys into the program, you transition.

      What’s weird is this is the pitch Barbay gave to get the job. That he would mold the offense around the players he had. He has not done that, in particular, with Will.

    Matt, I feel for y’all and pray things get better. NIL has changed the game and the SEC had better get in the forefront and stay there. There are a lot of good teams all over the nation.

    So Matt, we have two top notch OL and DL coaches with proven records. Does this reflect our overall talent level on the line is sub par with the SEC?

    Well Matt, my picks this year are way off. So far 1-2 for the year. Here is what i wanna know from someone who knows the game a bit better as a german State fan. Is there any possibility that we can run any sort of Air Raid with our 2 dozens seniors. They are very familiar with that system and i think that could work. What we saw the last 2 weeks will not win us SEC games, everybody knows that. LSU has way better talent but there was a real gap. See you later in the show and then you maybe can answer that question.

      @bradyb2233 9 місяців тому +2

      Honestly, i think if we changed our offense we should have made a change at QB. Either that or do as you said and let them run a version of the air raid with more running calls. Nick saban has played 3 different quarterbacks. I feel like we have to do the same otherwise the future is bleak. the QB room is thinning as we speak.

      @@bradyb2233I thought they said that's what they were gonna do anyway? Didn't Barbay come right out & say that he knew what we had on the roster, and he had a bunch of air raid stuff in his system,and that it wouldn't look much different this year? I thought it would be bad out of the gate,but I didn't expect this. Just looked hapless & lost at almost every position.

      @@jasoninflagstaff It sure looks like the play calling is off, like basically all of the issues are timing and people on the wrong routes. If we are being honesty Mike Wright would probably be better at running this new offense. Running quarterbacks are expected to read a defense and adjust the play calls while under center. I feel like Mike could run the new offense more efficiently. Now i doubt that is the right thing to do because our new tight ends aren't really a threat and most of the offense is air raid. Why not let them run a true air raid this year and adjust next year? either that or play Mike way more than they are. I think they assumed Will Rogers had enough experience to change to the new offense, but the man has been running a true air raid since High school. So many questions, But I feel like this year will put us back on the path to the promise land.

    Many fans don’t understand. O-line and control line of scrimmage has a lot of do with wills success. Line would seem like effects a lot . Receivers have to run better routes but that could take time polish. Hail State . Just my opinion!

    • @Kayluv101
      @Kayluv101 9 місяців тому

      When you have a struggling O line and don’t have the best down field WRs the last thing you want is a slow pocket passer.. For example look at bama Last year they had major issues on the OLine bryce had to scramble almost every down bama was able to have success because of bryce young’s ability to extend plays with his legs.. Sipp state should atleast try Mike Wright. It’s not that Wills bad but his skill set doesn’t fit this offense..

    Last year LSU went on the road and played tennessee in an early kickoff game they got destroyed 40-13..LSU learned from their mistakes in that Tennessee game they came to starkville prepared and were firing on all cylinders right from the start.. I don’t think sipp state is even that bad we played the same way that LSU played tennessee last year.. Flat no energy tons of mistakes..States loss to LSU isn’t even as bad as the Bama loss last year and we won 9 games LSU is the best team on state’s schedule this year it’s no longer Alabama…Don’t worry guys we’ll be fine!! We get blown out atleast once every year this is nothing new..LSU is the best team on our schedule this year it’s not bama..

      You are correct that TENN beat LSU 40-13, but it was actually in Tiger Stadium. LSU did go on the road the following week and beat Florida by 10 and then came home and beat Ole Miss to be 6-2 at the bye week.

    28:55 doing a few things well... sounds like Mike Leach/Paul Johnson...
    29:10 re:defense... seems like the 3-3-5 JLD scheme that gambles on blitz (sellout on the blitz & take the defensive holding/PI) requires stout players 2-deep (like '99) and/or an equally gambling offense that will help make up for defensive mistakes... otherwise, it's like you & the other caller said about not gonna out-Bama Bama on scheming&recruiting, i.e. a weaker team needs volatility against a stronger team
