As a Latino person, (born in Mexico, moved up to the United States when I was 15) the word "Latinx" is very offensive. Spanish is a romance language, and so "gender neutral" terms simply do not exist. "Latino" is the term used when you do not specify gender. Furthermore, "Latinx" is not even pronounceable in Spanish. Those who use the term "Latinx" have turned their back on Latino culture, and the Spanish language. They are not welcome here.
(P.S. English is my second language, so sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes)

The beautiful Romance Language of Castilian Spanish has rich and long history dating back to the Kingdom of Castile and Leon in Spain, and before that the Vulgar Latin language of Spanish has its roots deep in the Latin Language brought over by the Romans when the Iberian Peninsula of Hispania became a region of the Roman Empire. (Note: Julius Caesar was Governor of Hispania, and many of his Legions have their roots in Hispania. Also, Hispania would produce some of the greatest Roman Emperors in history. And the Latin language itself can be traced back to Latium. The Latins (or Latini) of Latium that were sprung from those Indo-European tribes that, during the 2nd millennium BC, came to settle in the Italian peninsula. By the first centuries of the 1st millennium BC, the Latins had developed as a separate people, The history of Latium is inseparable from the destiny of ancient Rome. So, Yes! I would say that the Spanish language has a long rich history which its origins can traced a couple millennium BC. So show some respect to our rich culture and history and stop the changing something that did not ask to be changed nor wants to be changed and leave our beautiful language, culture and people alone and out of your Politics! Again, We did not ask for it or want it! This LatinX bullshit has to Stop! and Stop Now! I feel so offended and rage whenever I hear that derogatory term for my people. And remember that Latino/Hispanic is NOT a RACE of people but a Culture! You can be any race for example White, Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, Jew, Native American. But if you were born in a Spanish Speaking Country in Latin America that is what makes you Hispanic. Basically you grew up in a Spanish speaking culture that is what makes you Hispanic or Latino not your race. Just some FYI if anybody did not know. So please stop calling us that offensive word, It's like calling us the "N" word. Only 3% of Hispanics/Latinos call themselves that derogatory word, the vast Majority of Hispanics/Latinos find LatinX offensive!
