Well explained. But I have a problem, as I need my document about 4000 px width. If I work with that size there is a large part of water and the center, that should fill the picture as seen in your example, is only a small point. So it doesn´t look the same, only when I zoom in the picture. Could you recommend something to realise the effect in a picture with high res?
Probably you already found out... :) In order to enable the in CS6, the bit depth of the needs to be changed to 8 Bits/Channel. To the Bit Depth, select Mode -> 8 Bits / Channel under the menu. The should now be available for this photo
