Thanks, LOVE the experiment. Great show, and video (with expressions) ads a lot. Would be great to have the podcast easily accessible. Missing it sooooo much. I have no problem paying for content but Patreon doesn't make it exactly frictionless (no apple pay, etc). Anyway, thanks again, great show.
I'm really liking the new format. I think that a video demands more attention from you than a podcast, but in a good way. You catch up on more personal quirks (facial expressions, pauses) that help express the ideas discussed in a better, more realistic and natural way. It feels less... preplanned, I guess. I'm considering this experiment a definite success andI'm really looking forward for more.
I was at a dinner party recently and I said I never say anything that could be interpreted as controversial, “I self- censor all the time now.” The progressives at the party were surprised. The husband of the hostess agreed with me. It was an odd turn of events. The progressives all agreed they “speak their minds” without fear of consequence. I said “that may be because you only speak to people you know already agree with you.” Silence. I loved WHITE. I listen to the audiobook all the time.
Sucks, that even on this podcast, James has to re-iterate far left ideology and tip toe on egg shells. I like money more than what I have to say, too, though.
I honestly thought the same thing about society being post racial at the time. then people made jokes about anything described as black, black Friday or back in black or amex black etc, with the silly line "that's racist." and then people took it seriously
This is the format this show deserves.
Yes, this was great. We need more of the Bret Easton Ellis show!
Best implementation of the "The Bret Easton Ellis..."-Talking franchise yet.
One of my favorite political conversations of the year so far
Yes this is perfect

The Bret Easton Ellis Show: Why Even Have A Guest When I Talk 99% of the Time?
Cobi665 it’s called a monologue, look it up. this isn’t instagram or Twitter. Bret actually works on this.
Corporate EU: The onlything you hear in german radio is weather reports and anal traffic reports, every 5 minutes.

James looks like someone's eternally single, disillusioned, middle-aged aunt that lives on Cape Cod
He is married and he have 6 kids!
Stop talking.
Upvote if you're trying to read all those book titles in the background!

Benjamin Rood | i have to attend social functions for work. You have to put in your “face time.”
This is the way to do the show.

Unfortunately these days there are vultures everywhere that pick apart anything and everything. 😐
Have him (James) meet christian bale. Sean Bateman and Patrick Bateman
Please do post videos! And show us more books in the background.
Keep posting videos, grandpa Ellis!!!
James is spot on just like his amazing performance in the Rules of Attraction. I'm glad he didn't let Bret overtalk him the whole time.
I think Brett and Brandon Straka would get a long famously.
Hahahah straka? Hahahah nobody cares about that waste of skin.
President Trump was dismissed as a candidate - and that's the primary reason he got elected. America likes the underdog!
And look how that all turned out hahahahahsh
HOLY SHIT THIS RULES
Yes.
If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much
I love how James is interested in his smart phone, instead of discussing Rosanne.

Oh maybe he's actually just got a more mature perspective on some issues?
